Rourke’s Weekly Recommendations

Every week I throw out a few recommendations on things such as movies, books, knives, flashlights – all kinds of stuff. Some of these are not related to preparedness whatsoever – rather, just stuff I like. Most are available on Amazon but not all. I have a particular fondness for movies as one of my favorite things to do is to sit back and watch a good one.

So – for this week……here is my list:

Books (non-fiction)

Compact Cabins – Living in 1,000 Square Feet or Less

Mini-Gardening: Self-Sufficiency on 1/4 Acre  Great book!!!

Storey’s Guide to Raising Chickens

Books (fiction)

White Fang – Jack London classic.

Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse –  Rawles’s classic survival story/manual.

299 Days: The Preparation – book one in the series

First Blood

Die Hard – action  classic!

Lethal Weapon  – one of my favorites!

Groundhog Day

  1. Just finished the 3 books currently out in the “Last Stand” series by William H Weber, great reads, book 4 is coming soon. I found them more action packed compared to the Rawles books.

  2. All my opinion; If you only have one book per animal type, I recommend those by Storey. They cover alot of info without being overbearing. I have their books on goats and rabbits and am adding the chicken book soon. Great for beginning and expert stockmen alike. There are other periodicals that Hobby Farms puts out under the “Popular Farming Series” and their annual series that provide alot of info as well! The Popular Farming series often include projects for animal specific “builds” with easy to follow plans.
