A few recent reviews:
“As always, let’s start with the standard disclaimer: my review will discuss the product in question for it’s value given it’s intended use. One should look at a products specs before you make a purchasing decision. This is a $50 UHF/VHF 2W HT. You won’t reach Moscow with it for simplex HF traffic – 2W is very low power. That’s not a bad thing, just a thing. Hams should always strive to transmit on the lowest power setting possible anyway, right? One gripe I have regarding other reviewers – giving it a 1 or 2 rating because it won’t reach a repeater which is 20 miles away and mounted on the eaves of a 1 story house when using the included rubber duck antenna, or because it has static on a frequency with no traffic when you have the squelch set to 0, are not realistic complaints or valid ratings.”
“I purchased this radio for my husband who is a Firefighter/ EMT and he has been very satisfied with the radio. Will definitely recommend to others.”
“These things are great, good for a beginner, or for an oldhead who needs a micro backup. Inexpensive enough to get for kids or spares to set back. Got a spare to put in my Farraday cage, and another spare to ride in the car.”
“wife gave me one last year. i wear a coat and tie everyday for work. the radio fits well in my suit coat pocket. good radio but…… volume is LOUD! program with the software if you have lots time you could do it without the software. really wish it was alpha-numeric. bottom line, good little radio for $50.00″
gotta have it?
