Knowledge is Power!

Knowledge is Power!

“The Coach”

Editor At Large

In today’s world knowledge is power. Too many people get all of what they think they know by watching the TV news, listening to the radio or reading the news papers. The TV, radio and news papers slant what they want you to know by what the editor and/or owners believe in. This way they can slant the American public opinion the way they want. You remember, the pen is mightier than the sword?    I say, the known truth is mightier than the press!

Unfortunately, the U. S. Supreme Court is also slanted to the left or the right by which United States President appoints the most justices. These justices say they interpret the constitution. But do they really. Do they really listen to what our founding fathers had to say and meant?

The “Amendment 2 – Right to Bear Arms. Ratified 12/15/1791.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Many people will have you believe that the “Second Amendment” means that the Militia is the only ones that have the right to bear arms. That our founding fathers did not mean each individual in the United States should have that right.

This is just to give you some straight forward information about what our fore fathers had in mind when they wrote the “Second Amendment”.

I am NOT going to attempt to decipher what the writers of the constitution meant. I am going to give you factual quotes of what our founding fathers actually said and believed.

If you do not believe that they said what I quote below, copy the quote to a Google search and see for yourself.

“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government” — Thomas Jefferson,     1 Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

“Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who did not”.   Thomas Jefferson

“The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good” — George Washington

“A free people ought to be armed.”
George Washington

“Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples’ liberty’s teeth.”
George Washington

“A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.”
George Washington

“The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed.” — Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers at 184-188

“The great object is, that every man be armed. […] Every one who is able may have a gun.” — Patrick Henry, speech of June 14, 1788

“That the said Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press or the rights of conscience; or to prevent the people of the United states who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms…” — Samuel Adams, in “Phila. Independent Gazetteer”, August 20, 1789

“… arms … discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property…. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived the use of them.”
Thomas Paine

“To disarm the people is the most effectual way to enslave them.”
George Mason

“I ask sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people except for a few politicians.”
George Mason (father of the Bill of Rights and The Virginia Declaration of Rights)

“Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the people of other countries, whose leaders are afraid to trust them with arms.”
James Madison

“To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.”
Richard Henry Lee

Now you know what our founding fathers meant when they said, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”.

They meant EXACTLLY that!

Don’t let the politicians, the news media or the U. S. Supreme Court tell you anything different or what you should believe.

And then there are some other famous quotes by so infamous leaders!

“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so”. – A. Hitler, April 11 1942

“Americans have the will to resist because you have weapons. If you don’t have a gun, freedom of speech has no power”. — Yoshimi Ishikawa, Japanese author, in the LA Times 15 Oct 1992

“…quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est.” […a sword never kills anybody; it’s a tool in the killer’s hand.] – (Lucius Annaeus) Seneca “the Younger” (ca. 4 BC-65 AD)

  1. Reminding people of the intent of our founders is a useful endeavor. Not just in regards to the 2nd amendment, but in the constitution as a whole. Sometimes it seems -reminders- are all we have left. With each day that passes, with each governmental intervention, with each usurpation of authority it becomes clearer that we live in a post constitutional America…. but… it’s not to late to set things right……

  2. Do you think that Frinstein, Shumer and Bloomberg are unaware of these quotations? Certainly not, they just ignore them for their own need to rule the masses. They know that arms are a threat to their power base.

  3. It is quite certain that if you are unable to defend yourself, as a people, that others will take advantage of that.

In that circumstance you will not be able to count on help from the government.

We maintain our own freedom through our determination to be free and our capacity to defend ourselves, our families, and our country if necessary.
