From the Desk of John Rourke – November 13th, 2014

I’ve owned several air guns over the years including pump and CO2. So much fun and they certainly have a place a a preparedness tool. I remember growing up carrying around a Daisy 880 pump BB/pellet gun. I felt like I could take on the Soviet army with that thing. Back then I walked the entire neighborhood with it and never heard a word from anyone. Do that today and the police will probably be called.

The United States has agreed to cut greenhouse gas emissions by another 25% by the year 2025 in an agreement with China. The problem is China agreed to CAP greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. This means while the United States will continue to reduce gas emissions China will continue to INCREASE them until the year 2030. Hmmmm……that negotiation doesn’t sound like it went too well. This is setting up American manufactures to have to spend more money in order to meet the new regulations while their Chinese competition doesn’t. To sum it up – another bad deal by Obama for businesses in America.

Looking forward to the Thanksgiving sales on turkey’s. Usually I buy 4-5 and use one on Thanksgiving and put the others in the freezer.

Not hearing too much about Ebola right now. That is a good thing as obviously the cases in the United States have dissipated to pretty much nothing.Lets hope it stays that way.

  1. I wish I had lived in a different time. Maybe that is a thought we old farts all have as we get old. At 61 I can’t believed we have become such a weak, wimpy, weird people. Such a divide in thoughts, theology, etc. I long for the old days of my youth in Texas when men were men, women were women and live was simple. Love God, respect people, live and let live and none of this stuff we see today. Keep Looking UP – that’s where the help comes from!
