From the Desk of John Rourke – December 2nd, 2015

Mylar packed more rice, pasta and pinto beans. Picked up some heavy duty Mylar bags and like them much better as they will resist cracking during storage much better than than the thinner versions. Food storage is looking much better but still a long ways to go. Need to place an order through the LDS Cannery for more wheat.

Wife picked up another 19 canning jar of various sizes – for $10. Great deal.

  1. Did you ever buy one of those OS1 baton lights? I located one via your link and then onto Amazon. It came with a rechargeable battery, battery case, case to hold the light on my belt, and the light of course for $55.95. So for $6 dollars more I got a good deal I think. The light is extremely bright for such small little thing.

  2. JR and Capt M, The situ with the active shooter in Kalifornia were 20 people were shot, is another reason for us all to carry our battle kits. On top of illegals refugees from the south, Muslim refugees from Obama and internal Crazies a perfect trifecta, you need a kit.

  3. Rourke,
If you haven’t already, buy a case of plastic lids and seals. Take care of your rings, and the jars, lids, and seals will last a lifetime. I’m real careful how I open the jars, and pay attention not to damage the reusable rubber seals.
