For those that might wonder – “What in the world is an Emergency Seed Bank?” – I will tell you.

An Emergency Seed Bank is a stash of seeds that can be stored long-term for use when needed – whether it be due to some TSHTF scenario – or you want to plant a garden. The seeds are packaged in a re-sealable triple layer, foil lined, airtight bag with a tamper seal, so the seeds stay alive and viable longer than in paper packs or simple zip lock bags. Each individual seed pack is labeled with the purity date, germination date and weight of seeds. Next, the seeds are packaged with a desiccant in a metal water-proof airtight container which is pretty much indestructible.

Over the summer I did many posts on gardening and my philosophy regarding its inclusion to a well-rounded survival system is well known to those that have been reading here for awhile. No doubt this spring I will be planting another garden – and it will be bigger than ever. I think I will give some of these seeds a try.
