The Panhandle Rancher speaks……”This is not a game.”

Politicians must talk about what is wrong or needs to be corrected, else why would we vote them and not their opponent? Wrong doesn’t necessarily happen by accident or omission and too often is cleverly planned. Loopholes designed into our laws give favor to this class over that, give form over substance, and thus perpetuate a system of plunder.

So now we have a veritable plague of demagogues, corrupt politicians, and unaccountable public officials. I recently heard a cabinet level official remark she didn’t work for the people, she worked for the president. So what? These things haven’t happened in a dark corner, they happened because we the people have blindly trusted others to work on our behalf. We vote our individual interests ahead of the nation’s interest and so we now have the very government we deserve.

Above the portcullis of an old MacDonald family castle in the highlands of Scotland is carved, ‘Be Ye Vigilant’. Eternal vigilance is but one price of freedom.

The Civil War caused President Lincoln to expand the oath of office and now different offices have different oaths. No doubt many of you have taken an oath of office. At the risk of being pedantic, I would like to echo several of those oaths.

Presidential Oath of Office:

“I, <name>, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Congressional Oath of Office:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Federal employ Oath of Office (5 USC Sec 3331):

“I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

Additional Federal Judge Oath of Office (Judiciary Act of 1789):

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm), that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent on me, according to the best of my abilities and understanding, agreeably to the Constitution, and laws of the United States. So help me God.

Uniformed Services Oath of Office:

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

The oath for officers is different than the oath for enlisted (USC T5, Section 3331). Officers swear to defend the Constitution but not to obey orders that violate the Constitution. Enlisted follow the UCMJ and obey lawful orders in support of the Constitution.

Officers of the National Guard of the various States take an additional oath:

I, [name], do solemly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___ against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___, that I make this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the Office of [grade] in the Army/Air National Guard of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___ upon which I am about to enter, so help me God.

Those of us who have previously sworn to defend and protect are now reminded of our oaths; oaths with neither term limit nor expiration date. Honor binds us for life my friends. Please I beg of you, let’s end any discussion of revolution. Hold a Constitutional Convention if you must. It is a permitted and a peaceful activity purposefully designed as a way to cast off this government. Too many of us have seen war’s ugly face. This is not a game. War has no place in this land of the brave and home of the free.

  1. The Oath of Office that some of us take is for life – not just for the term that some of these modern day adam henry’s seem to take!!!!!!!!!

  2. Panhandle Rancher – You say, “Please I beg of you, let’s end any discussion of revolution.” Our country, our government, our constitutional system have been so corrupted and betrayed, and the enemies are so powerful and entrenched, there can be no restoration through political or constitutional means. To think otherwise is sweet but naive. Revolution could be a terrible thing. But if we do not have revolution, essentially now, all is lost. A generation from now, when you and I are both dead, and our people are slaves in a country worse that a 3rd world potentate, the few remaining lovers of liberty will whisper in secret, “Why didn’t they act when there was still a chance?”

  3. I hope not, but we are coming to a crossroads where we do not have any optiions left. Revolution seems to be the only choice left, then comes an idea that may seem to work only to be run aground by the present regime.I guess we’ll have to roll with the punches and hope for the best! WE THE PEOPLE ARE STILL HERE,and we are not going anywhere. The voting booths have been so corrupted, most believe even we the voters have lost control!

  4. Panhandle Rancher is absolutely correct. This is NOT A GAME. This is a very well orchestrated plan that has taken decades to implement, while many of us had faith in the system or slept. Does anyone believe that there is any chance that those in power are going to change their ways, return to the true principles our Country was founded upon, or step down and allow new representation to step up? Me neither, so what other option than revolution (definition: A forcible overthrow of a government or social order in favor of a new system) does anyone know of? I would not want to see violence on our home soil, but that is the plan in place now.

    Plan:
    – Overwhelm the welfare system to break the economy. (Affordable Care Act, Welfare drives, SNAP, etc.)
    – Eliminate the middle class. (Regulate/tax/persecute small businesses out of existence)
    – Create hatred between the rich and the poor. (read VIOLENCE)
    – Make both the rich and the poor dependent on the government to maintain allegiance and control.
    – Eliminate Liberty. (Martial Law?)
    – Change America from a Republic to Democracy/Socialism/Communism. (just like China, Russia, Cuba, and the list can go on)

A peaceful transfer of authority back to the people…if they will let it happen that would be a good thing.

  5. I salute your call for peaceful accommodation. However, you totally miss the nature of the enemies of liberty. They will NEVER leave you alone, or give up their agenda or power. To think so is at best naive. We are facing dedicated world Communists. We a have been asleep for decades. It may very well be too late.

  6. Panhandle Rancher, I have to agree with you and hopefully Officers and Enlisted will obey the Constitution if the need ever arises. Mark Owen, I do not think those in power know will listen as they believe they know best for citizens of this country and considering the equipment and vehicles the government has stockpiled, it appears they will resort to force to implement their dreams.

  7. All –

I appreciate the PHR for the letter he sent. I take the position that we need to exhaust every possible option before resorting to violence. I understand the frustration with what has happened to our government and political system….believe me I understand. I feel it in my gut that change will not happen via the ballot box, nor by getting involved in local politics. I hope I am wrong. Regardless…though that is my belief I am contacting my local Republican office to see how I can get involved.

If all of us – that means you, and you, and you….were to truly get involved in the process I do believe things would change. But lets be honest….that is the root of the problem: Most of us will sit behind a keyboard with the glow of the monitor illuminating the room and proclaim the need to stand up and fight – but we won’t even write a letter or make a phone call to our local Congressman’s office. We don’t do the simplest things under the guise that “it just won’t make any difference.”

Maybe somehow we will band together and “fight” this fight peacefully. I truly hope so.

    Rourke

  8. I believe it was Pres. Kennedy who said:

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable.”

  9. Been writing /calling my congressmen and senators for years- Lapdog Lindsey is one of them, and does the opposite of what I (and many others) think he should do- I have reached the point of looking at elections as a waste of time- at least anything above the local level.Revolution? Who knows? But something MUST change soon, or there will be no alternative.

  10. I too am extremely disappointed in the disconnect between “we the people” and our elected representatives. IDK where you fix it…and i despair that we can fix it in time to make a difference…I’ll leave it at that…

  11. I have been writing, calling, faxing for over six years. The elite could care less if you take another breath. Just try to remove them by voting, and if you do, the new guy will be told how to play the game or else.

Yes, we are lucky to have Ted Cruz and Mike Lee. Well tell me, where was Rand Paul to help these guy’s?
PHR, you really need to take another look around and open your eye’s and ask yourself if this is what you want for your grand kid’s. Do you want them to be enslaved?

Ever read ” The Road To Serfdom” or watch “Behold A Pale Horse” with Charlie Daniels?

90 million + people have stopped working because that can’t find any, 48 million + living off the back of us that do work. Millions are retired over age 62. That leaves less than half to tow the line and Washington could care less about you, me and any other citizen, just pay your taxes pay your obamacare, pat, pay, pay.

Do you really think we are free anymore?
You can own a bussiness, but the fed’s tell you what to do and how to run it through regulation.

I have a friend that own’s a liquor store and last week the IRS sent him a letter that they were in the process of seizing his store because $28.00 was missing from his monthy taxes. They said they were sorry, they must have crossed in the mail. REALLY!!!! $28.00
Don’t forget all the other scandels…..errr! I could keep going but I’m sure we all know.

Charges filed against obama and his half brother, how’s the change working for you?

    http://www.wnd.com/2013/11/criminal-terror-charges-filed-against-obama/

I don’t want war eaither, but I won’t give up on my country, ever.
We are not a democracy no matter what the thugs in DC tell you. We are a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!

    Sorry for the rant.
    For God and Country!

  12. Brad,

    Thanks, I needed that!
Some days when I look at all the crap going on and how the gov. is out of control, I feel like WE THE PEOPLE have no control and just want to sit down and cry.
