STERIPEN SIDEWINDER GIVEAWAY!!!!

The folks over at Ready Made Resources have been gracious enough to donate a brand-new SteriPEN Sidewinder to giveaway to one lucky MSOnline reader.

Here is some information on the SteriPEN Sidewinder:

SteriPEN Sidewinder has arrived! We’re very excited to introduce the first  battery-free UV water purifier. Sidewinder gives you the freedom to purify water anywhere – camping trips, journeys abroad or in emergency situations such as floods, power outages, earthquakes or hurricanes.

We wanted to create a product with the same reliability our customers have come to expect from SteriPEN, but untethered from batteries. With a lifetime of 8,000 treatments and no replacement parts necessary, Sidewinder is ideal for extended trips, and an ever-reliable tool for emergency preparedness.

Powered by a hand crank, Sidewinder can purify 1 liter of water in 90 seconds, destroying waterborne bacteria, viruses and protozoa such as giardia and cryptosporidium.

Sidewinder comes with a BPA-free 1 Liter bottle and pre-filter for use prior to treatment if water contains any debris or particulates, so it’s ready with everything you need to purify water whether you’re on a multi-week trek in Alaska, or volunteering in a remote African village.

How to enter the contest?

It’s simple – just leave a comment here on this post. What to say? Whatever….maybe “Why you would like the SteriPEN” or “What you are preparing for.”. It’s up to you.

I will draw the name of one lucky person on February 4th.

Extra special thanks to Ready Made Resources for making this possible!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!

Rourke

Thanks for the giveaway! Love the site.

I’m new to the blog, but this product will guarantee another method of purification of our H2O supplies when bugging out or sheltering at home. It will make a great addition to our Katydyn and Sawyer filters. However, one should still learn the old fashioned way of water purification and pasteurization.

If I’m lucky enough to win this device, it will be kept in my truck O’Shit kit (and I’ll write a review after thoroughly testing it!)

I have been planing to immigranting with my wife to Mexico to get away from all these Mexicans we’re blessed with down here in Alabama. Hope I win the prize, it will help guard against Montezumas revenge.

  14. By Ben, February 3, 2011 @ 12:02 am

Man! The best of both worlds; steripen and no batteries. Can’t wait to see one in action.

  15. By Glen, February 3, 2011 @ 12:37 am

The original SteriPEN was a great innovation. This takes it one step further. RMR really doesn’t need to do these kind of promotions at this point (they are a great online seller) but I am very glad they still do. I will continue to shop RMR even if I don’t win! An EMP can’t take out human power….

My strategy for prepping is trying to sustain off the GRID. Im still far from perfection still learning thats why i daily check this site. The giveaway will certainly add on to my sustainanbility. No matter what … Thanks so much to MODERN SURVIVAL ONLINE. Im more ready now than 2 years ago.

Here in Oklahoma we just got hit with a major blizzard. 14″ of ice and snow, no travel for 3 days. I have extra food and water, but didn’t think of candles or a lantern. When I went to Wal-Mart it was a madhouse. That’s when the reality hit that in a SHTF scenario I want to be ready. I could see things getting crazy when supplies are scarce.

This water purifier would be a great addition to my supplies.

Geez where to start prepping…. I need everything. I do live about 200 yards from a spring and this would be great to have for just that purpose. Tell Ready Made Thanks from your readers!!

Hey Rourke, I would love a chance for that water purifier…what an awesome opportunity you have given us!! We are on a well at our property and have yet to add solar power to the pump, so that purifier would come in real handy if we lose power and have to use water from an untrusted source..

Thanks again and feel free to visit my blog anytime!

I would love to receive the steripen. I would like to forward it to my son who is finally awakening to the need to prepare. This would be a great addition to his effort as his finances are limited.

Here too in Texas nature has let hair down and even the power grids are turning on and off. What a nice addition to have in a survival situation. Looks like the STERIPEN SIDEWINDER is a must.

  23. By Alan Cain, February 3, 2011 @ 1:50 pm

I have one of the steripen models in one of my bags; it is SUPERB. Prefilter the chunks out of the water and immerse, could not be simpler. My wife can not tolerate Iodine and this is wonderfully superior.

Good luck to all of you, and consider getting one of these honeys.

  24. By Nichole Rindom, February 3, 2011 @ 5:26 pm

I think this would be a great addition to my Super Bowl preparations. If I win, could I get it next day air, I’ll pay for shipping?

  25. By bill, February 3, 2011 @ 5:56 pm

i’ve been looking at getting a water filter myself. thanks for the heads up.

  26. By Survival Samurai, February 3, 2011 @ 6:56 pm

  29. By jeff, February 3, 2011 @ 9:21 pm

This would come in CRAZY handy up here in Alaska… I’d love to have one!

  30. By Undisclosed, February 3, 2011 @ 10:52 pm

Looks like I nearly missed this one! Count me in! Water purification is extremely important, and yet I have no system to do so just yet. Berkeys seem to be a great choice, but they’re not quite in my range. All in due time!

  31. By Imbroglio, February 4, 2011 @ 4:07 am

I have the Adventurer, but I would use the Sidewinder for the BOB since it doesn’t require batteries.

  32. By Ultimatedoomer, February 4, 2011 @ 12:13 pm
