State of the Country…….
I do not watch much television nowadays. It can get very frustrating. I believe this country…….this world, is in trouble and most people have their heads in the sand.
I see that many news journalist today have lost their professional ethics. Sex and violence sells and sucks the sheeple in. When turning on the TV the important news of the day is what Miley Cyrus is wearing (or not wearing) and the Lakers winning the NBA Championship. Real news does not seem to take the importance it should. When Michael Jackson died there was literally days of coverage – yet there is massive corruption and dishonesty in government – and it just isn’t that important to the main stream news media and is not investigated like it should.
Just look right now – Biden has started his Summer of Recovery tour and the economy continues to struggle – and that is being generous. New housing sales are down. New car sales are down. Unemployment (the real numbers) is up. The stock market is down. Gas prices are going up. All this and Obama add Biden continue to say the recovery is going well. It’s no wonder that at the recent G20 meeting that all European leader shook their head in disbelief at Obama’s suggestion of a massive world stimulus bill spending more money that no one has – running up more debt. Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona is begging Obama for help in border security – which he said he would send help in he form of troops. This was weeks ago. All the federal government has done thus far is post some signs warning AMERICANS to be careful on AMERICAN soil due to possible danger from illegals. Pathetic.
True journalists would be reporting the truth on these issues that are effecting this country.
Maybe the news media fails to provide the investigative efforts they should because if that is what they reported on – the average citizen would change the channel to Dr. Phil or General Hospital. Personally I think that the main stream media is leaning way left – and their reporting is way left. Evidence of this? Just look at the facts involved in Obama’s rise to the Presidency. This guy has been surrounded by radical people his whole career – and the FACTS were not played out neither before the election or after by the mainstream media. He was given a pass.
What are the answers?
Well – for one, true conservative’s need to be voted into office over the next couple of election rounds. A new breed of politican must rise to the cause. I have seen that the sheeple are starting to wake up and see what is going on around them. The Tea Party has generated a lot of interest and many people that have never participated in the political system are becoming active. This is a good thing. Educated voters are the exact opposite of what we have had in the past several elections. It is amazing the number of people that thought Obama was the second coming – that he was going to go into office and actually take care of them – no house payments, free child care, free schooling – it is all about what the individual can get for nothing. People are starting to see what is really going on with the massive spending unlike anything this country has seen before.
Unfortunately – I still do not see the main stream media reporting what is really happening – just a summary with some spin.
I’d like to hear your thoughts – please feel free to comment.
Take care all – Rourke

In most cases, I don’t it’s a purposeful hiding of the truth, but an inability to even see it. It’s human nature to not want to see what’s most likely coming.
But we’re in decline. B/c modern Western civilization was built on cheap fossil fuels, it’s very unlikely we will recover. My bet is that the slow decline will reach a point where fast, total collapse will occur. Maybe not, I hope not, but it seems the most likely outcome.

I agree.
It will be interesting to look back in 5-10 years and if we are right, on the correct track, or if everything is just dandy by then.
