Save money and find good deals at Groupon

I had heard and heard people taking about Groupon – and a few weeks ago decided to check them out. So far – I am pretty impressed and figured I would pass this along.

Groupon post daily “deals” in your area. Basically – you can purchase the Groupon deal which can save you some big bucks. Once purchased – you simply print out your Groupon and your good to go. Here are some examples of some deals I have taken advantage of:

Purchased a $30.00 Groupon to a local plant nursery for $15.00.
$30.00 Groupon to a local pizza place for $15.00.
$20.00 Groupon to Old Navy clothing store for $10.00.
Dinner for 2 at local pizza place for $16.00 – includes pizza, drinks, appetizers, and salad.

As you can tell – I like pizza.

If you like groupon you will really like gearhog.com it is groupon but for shooting sports! Especially like the $50.00 for $100.00 gift certificate at some ammo website. I missed that one though. Seen some good deals cone through. Great site you have and keep up the good work.

We have a local one called Valley Daily Deals. When I met with Jim at GIJims (I bought 3 $20 certificates for $10 each) he told me that of the $10 that comes in for each certificate he gets $5. This means I get $20 worth of stuff and he only gets $5 out of the deal. It’s a total money loser and the only reason he did it was to bring in new business. If he doesn’t get people coming back it could bust him. On the other hand, using these kinds of deals put out by larger companies is something that I’ll do as often as possible.
