Rourke’s Weekly Recommendations

Every week I throw out a few recommendations on things such as movies, books, knives, flashlights – all kinds of stuff. Some of these are not related to preparedness whatsoever – rather, just stuff I like. Most are available on Amazon but not all. I have a particular fondness for movies as one of my favorite things to do is to sit back and watch a good one.

So – for this week……here is my list:

Books(fiction)

Emergency Exit – 2020

Day by Day Armageddon – awesome book!

  1. I agree on all of your movie picks but especially Fireproof. When I heard it was a “Kirk Cameron” movie I thought of the young smart aleck kid on TV, but was happily surprised to find that it is a great reminder of what we promise at the altar. If you have never watched Courageous, I would recommend that one as well. They both are by the Kendrick brothers and it is another I have added to my collection.

    God Bless.

  2. Lone Wolf! I always liked how Chuck kept that look, after the film. Fantastic movie, one of my all-time favorites. Definitely my favorite Chuck movie.

The Day by Day Armageddon series is one of my favorite reads. I enjoy a end times book where all the characters are not completely clueless, and sound tactics/ gear choices are made.

  3. I never watched breaking bad, though a lot of my friends thrilled to it. Something about a hero who is a drug dealer does not do it for me.
I know too many people permanently fried by their drug use to think the dealers/sellers/makers are cool.
More of a ‘Justified’ guy, where they kill the drug dealers.

Though, to be fair, never watched the show for any extended period of time.
