Review: Mountain House Freeze Dried Ice Cream

Font Size » Large | Small

I am looking more into freeze dried foods as my more short-term food supply increases. One aspect of food storage that I am very conscious of are my 2 boys. I can see that should TSHTF, there will be enough stress around for everyone  – no need to add to it by having the kids wishing for more “normal” foods – like snacks.

A while back I bought a Mountain House Freeze Dried Ice Cream sandwich and gave it to my 7 year old – he loved it. I decided to look for something else in the snack department. At my local REI I came across a Mountain House Neapolitan Ice Cream foil pack. See below:

At only 110 calories – there is not a tremendous amount of energy in this food. It is really just a morale booster.

Smooth and chunky – it looks just like ice cream!!

The taste is very good. Smooth & creamy – the chocolate taste like chocolate, vanilla like vanilla, etc.  Warm ice cream? A little strange but as you can see in the picture below – a special treat!!

"I like it!!"

At only about $2.00 each – well worth inclusion in your survival food supplies.

Check out my sponsors if you are interested in getting some.
