Back in September I threw some questions at everyone via some “Preparedness Polls” and received a great response. Figured I would publish the results summarizing the data.

Lets take a look:

What rifle would you prefer?

AR-15     67.34%

AK-47     32.66%

Which pistol if you could choose just one?

1911 variant    41.66%

Glock                  58.34%

Most stocked up battery?

AA              80.73%

D                 9.03%

C                 2.14%

9V             1.3%

CR123A  6.8%

Favorite Campbell’s soup?

Chicken Noodle     55.38%

Tomato                     20.53%

Bean & Bacon          24.09%

Will the US National Debt Counter ever go backwards?

Yes      10.56%

No        39.2%

Are you kidding me with this stupid question?     50.24%

How much food do you have stored?

Less than a month   21.05%

1-3 months                 34.98%

3-6 months                 17.00%

6+ months                   26.98%

Skill set you need to improve the most?

Gardening                            39.67%

Firearm tactics                  11.25%

Medical/First Aid             29.9%

Wilderness Survival         9.68%

Fishing/Hunting                9.5%

OK – so what does all of this mean. Well, beyond something interesting to just look at I think we may be able to make a general assumption from this data.

If you are a reader of this site you…….

……have little issues hunting game or using a firearm and enjoy having 1-3 months worth of food put back which will include no doubt Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup. Most of your flashlights use AA batteries which will come in handy if you have to find your AR-15 or Glock in the dark. Oh – and everyone pretty much thinks I am an idiot for asking if the US National Debt counter will ever go backwards.

Hmmmmm……..

I WOULDN’T USE THE WORD IDIOT. I RATHER THOUGHT IT WAS THE TRICK QUESTION OR THE HUMORUS INTERLUDE….

  3. Wow i cant believe only 26% have 6 months worth of food. At SAMs right now a bag of rice 50# is 18$ X 2 is 36$ pintos 25# 17$ X 2 is 34$ 25# of flour is 7$ x 4 is 28$. So for 98$ you can have 250 lbs of food . This beats starvin takes 8 buckets and lids a few oxygen absorbers mabe 50$.I know no one likes the idea of beans rice and bread but i dont like the idea of watching my wife and kids starve to death.if you have 3 months in can goods i bet you spent more than twice what this is for 6 months worth. And before anyone says little timmy and jenny wont eat this i bet they will by day 8.what do you think you would be forced to eat after the last can of bean and bacon soup is gone? sorry for the rant i wieght 265 and need to lose it but not by starving.

  4. HECK GARY…. YOU ARE JUST EXPRESSING YOUR INCONGRUITY. WE GOT PAST THAT IN THIS HOUSE SOME TIME BACK. WE CAN PUT UP A YEARS SUPPLY OF BEANS AND RICE EVERY 6 WEEKS. THE ONLY CHOKE POINT IS GETTING ENOUGH MYLAR BAGS AND OXYSORBS. ITS THE 20TH. AND DW AND I HAVE PUT UP 200LBS OF RICE AND 150LBS OF CORN. BY THE END OF NOV. WE’LL HAVE ANOTHER 150LBS OF BEANS AND LEGUMES. IN 20 OR SO YEARS WE’LL FEED THE CHICKENS WITH IT AND START OVER. THAT IS IF EVENTS DON’T DECTATE OTHERWISE……..
