Project: Preparedness
Here is the 7th installment of Project: Preparedness – a weekly list of suggested survival items to purchase running around $10.00.
List for this week:
1—Baby Wipes, 1 box
1—Rubbing Alcohol
1—Feminine Products
1—Multi-pliers (cheap pair)
Many of these can be had from a dollar store. The multi-pliers can be purchased very inexpensively at Wal-Mart for around $5.00-$6.00 in the sporting goods department. Of course – if you can afford a pair of Gerbers – go for it. To get a current list of all recommendations so far for Project: Preparedness – click here.
Take care all -

I understand that you are trying to keep this list cheap as possible but I don’t think it would be a great idea to by a cheap multi-use pliers if you really plan on using it. You really wouldn’t want to have an important item like a knife break on you when you really need it, but other than that I pretty much agree on the lists here.

Hi Food Storage Lady –
You are correct – if it can be afforded a good set of multi-pliers from Gerber or Leatherman are certainly desiraeble. I have several Gerbers and love them. I also have had a set of Winchester and a par with the JEEP brand – and they are both decent. I spent $5.00 on the Winchester and $10.00 on the JEEP.
Project: Preparedness is geared towards the budget-minded folks – possibly unemployed and/or under-funded.
You certainly get what you pay for in most cases.
