Politics today….thoughts on the future

Watching the news about the happenings in government today is very frustrating.

I am a Reagan Conservative. The ridiculous governmental actions during the last decade have just about lead me to give up hope that there will be any positive change anytime soon. This is one of the driving forces that has me dedicated to a preparedness lifestyle. I just see this country heading in a downward spiral that I am unsure can be reversed.

Here are a few things that really have me worried and are evidence to my concerns:

Rampid government corruption
Economic trends and the eventual consequences of them
Decline in society’s morals and intelligence
Society’s overwhelming dependence on technology
The complete oblivious mentality of the average American citizen to what is really going on around them…..as well as a “I really could care less – just give me my high definition television and PlayStation 3″ attitude

Combine the above and throw in what I believe is a real terrorist threat utilizing nuclear weapons within the borders of the United States – I am deeply concerned.

Nuclear Terrorism

I have my beliefsof what will happen in the future – and all are just a guess of course. I think there will be a major terrorist attack within the next 5-10 years. I believe the economy will be so damaged by the disruption this attack will create that we will fall into a deep depression – possibly a total economic collapse. I believe things- at least in some parts of the country – will end up similar to that described in JWR’s book The Patriots. Of course -I may be wrong. Possibly something else entirely different will happen……alien invasion, asteroid impact, Yellowstone eruption, economic collapse on it’s own – who knows.

Bottom line…..I am doing the best I can to prepare myself and my family just in case. So should you.
