New look for MSOnline?

Font Size » Large | Small

Hello all -

I continue to struggle with some technical problems with this site being viewed in Firefox, and possibly other browsers.

All images on the site are suppossed to be centered to the screen. Do me a favor and leave a comment as to what browser you are using and if the images are centered.

In MS Internet Explorer – no problem. When I view the site in other browsers some images are centered while others are not. I have been trying to fix this – but no luck.

I may try a different Theme – or look  -in order to try to fix it.

Thanks and take care -

Rourke

I’m not sure what images you refer to.. The article under this one with the “Guest Article” title has an image and it’s centered for me..I’m using Mozilla Firefox v. 3.6.13. I’ve never had any trouble seeing any images. Hope this helps.

    Firefox 3.6.13 – Images centered

I am using Firefox and all pictures are centered, only the embedded videos are on the left side where the text starts. Only thing I just noticed ist that the survival database downloads just went underneath Home About Donate an is now sitting in the light brown space before the dark brown “blog space” starts.

I use firefox and I haven’t noticed any issues. I just compared with internet explorer and it looked exactly the same.

I use Firefox, version 3.6 (current) and all of your pictures are centered. I’m not sure if it matters but I use Firefox for Mac.

    Hi, Rourke

It is centered. I am using Google Chrome. But, I think what some people may be seeing is due to the ‘subscribe’ dialog box being wider than most of the ad text on the right.

At the point where the subscribe box is, it is centered. BUT the ads are 1/2 of the width of the, so as you scroll down it doesn’t look centered. That may be what people are seeing.

I’m in a bit of a rush this morning but I took a few quick screens and scraped together a very terrible composite for you. Images are centered as you hope them to be but the “Survival Database Download” link is on the bottom left of your menu bar. I thought I remembered it being in-line with the rest of the menu links.

Anywhoooo, I use Google Chrome browser, v9.0.597.86 beta in a screen resolution of 1920×1080.

Top image is what the link looks like normally, bottom part is what it looks like when I mouse over it. Sorry for the quick hack job, I can do better later if you need more info. Didn’t take a screen of the centered images as they appeared to be just as you described they should be.

Enjoy your site daily on Firefox Version 3.6.13 and it always displays correctly. Far as I’m concerned just keep up the great work as is.

Let us know what blogging software/site you use so that we can give you some quick tips for cross-compatibility. It may be as easy as changing a few tags.

Thanks for the info. I saw the same thing in Firefox so I edited the page list – and it fixed on mine.

    Will keep trying.

    SuperDave –

Yes – that is what I am talking about. Sometimes the pictures are left-aligned, rather than centered.

    Thanks – Rourke

FireFox 3.6.13 here, all images are centered and a-okay!

To note, AdBlock+ is active and NoScript is blocking all scripts on this site except Amazon.com and Macromedia.com (flash) per my choice on this particular site. If there are any problems at all, they can probably be alleviated by allowing individual websites or objects.
