Netflix pick: Jericho
Netflix is an excellant deal in my opinion. For less than $10.00 per month you can access and watch thusands of movies, documentaries, program and more through your computer, TV, media player or entertainment system.
Well – this week I am recommending the now-cancelled TV series Jericho
Summary of the series: Wayward son of Jericho mayor Johnston Greene (Gerald McRaney), Jake (Skeet Ulrich) returns to the rural Kansas town to collect an inheritance, only to be stranded by a nuclear blast that cuts off communications to the outside world and makes Jake a reluctant leader amid chaos. With many unanswered questions about the disaster, anarchy breaks out. But Jericho‘s newest resident (Lennie James) knows more than most others will ever discover.
If you are a member of Netflix – simply search for “Jericho TV show”. If you are not a member – it is one of he better deals for your entertainment dollar going.

Wow! Funny how things work! I have been watching this series for about 10 days now. I am at season 2, episode 6. The first season is the best! It’s more realistic, however.

Yeah, I wasn’t overly impressed with Season 2. The director lost a lot of funding and actually had to change the way it was filmed.
Thanks!

I loved the show and then they go take it off TV. I agree, season 1 was better than season 2. Why cant they get something like this back on the tube. I don’t watch much TV anymore but I would watch something like this.

Thanks for letting us know it’s on Netflix Rourke! I didn’t know it was, and have never had a chance to see the entire series.

Loved Jericho (most of it anyhow). Also, Netflix has “Trinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie” narrated by William Shatner. KFY

Rouke,
Thanks for info on Jericho (we must have missed it first time around not watching much mainstream CBS/NBC/ABS nonsense on TV). Great little series that at the end of the day presents a wide range of responses from many personalities/characters/ The question is following your viewing: Who would you be following such a disaster event? Which character and do you want to be that character? Great stuff! Thanks!

I watched the series a few years back.. It is one of the best TV series I have seen. It is too bad it was canceled early. It is a great little series though and I have recommended it to many people.

Jericho is my second favorite show ever. Miracles, another unique Ulrich-led show is #1. There were only 13 episodes of that show, but I would say 10 out of the 13 episodes were better than most movies at the theater.
Jericho started out as Little House on the Apocolyptic Prairie, but they had to establish all the relationships and this is what made it such a fantastic show. The acting was superior to most shows (with the exception of the blond ditz) and I would say that the Season 1 FINALE episode, with the showdown with New Bern and the flashbacks was the best episode of television I have seen. EVER. Season 2 had a different flavor to it, a stripped down fast-paced, 100% conspiracy focused, but I thought it was very well done considering the limitations that had been placed on them from CBS. The episode with Brave Bonnie (wink) was very emotional and the fact that they cast a hearing impaired actress who not only held her own, but was a strong character…………made me love the show even more. If you know the drinking game: Get Kenchy!, then you are a true fan of the show. If you sent Nuts and called the hotline (I did both) then you are a true fan.
