Vote for MSO!!

It is a sad day…….

Some of you may take this wrong, while some of you may take it just right. I have NEVER been so disappointed in my country as I am right now. I am as patriotic as the next person – more so than most. Regardless – the United States is on a path to change in a very fundamental way which will lead to a New United States of America.

This new country will have an unprecedented number of citizens on the government dole in one form of another. Success will be vilified and mediocrity celebrated. Rules, regulations, policies and procedures will be driven to such a level that private business will diminish  along with the jobs.

God will continue to be less and less a part of our lives. As courts and politicians “rule” out of fairness and equality to reduce exposure to God, our and societies moralities will continue to crumble.

“Rights” that our forefathers found so important and built this country on will shrink to become an unrecognizable image of what they once were.

This country has been on a terrible path for some time, and this election just pushed it over the edge. We WILL see dramatic changes over the coming years as the fundamental structure and being that is the United States is twisted and manipulated – as it already has.

Do I have hope? No – I actually don’t. There is a time to be positive and there is a time to be realistic.  This is not about parties or candidates. It isn’t. It is about right, wrong, and a path to make this country better. A path that is so simple to see – but the spoiled, dependant America is not willing to follow.

This will be my very last post that even mentions politics. I honestly am extremely frustrated as I type this Tuesday night and just need to take it all in. From a preparedness perspective – some changes need to be made in my life.

I have a lot of thinking to do.

Take care all, and God bless this country.

Thank you for your work here. I also frustrated by this election. All I can go is pray to the Lord to give the leaders wisdom and quiet my fears. After all, He is in charge. I will continue to prep, and learn all I can while the internet is available to us. Hang in there my friend

  • Dan S.

Same here. A lot of thinking to do. How much time before the collapse, I wonder?

  • Markus K.

I am not American and I don’t live in America, but I feel the same way as you do Rourke. The thing is that the changes that will be effecting America, will also effect the rest of the world. While talking politics with my friends overe here in Germany I couldalways point to the US and its people and say:”look at them. They know what freedom is about. They know that true freedom is coupled with responsibility for you, your family and the community you live in and not vice versa.”
I am so sad to see the outcome of this election. I pray for you guys and that you will find a way to protect your godgiven rights and your families from the things to come. Let’s just hope that what was true for Sodom and Gomorrah will be true with the US and that as long as there are at least a few good people left, God will continue to bless America and not wipe it out.
My prayers are with you and your great nation.
    Be safe!

Well, I think everyone here has basically said ity. I wonder how long it will take for this country to be totally turned inside out. Its sad when a 19 yr old feels “her” vote didn’t count. It was her first and she said last election. I have no words for her. I see the results of the past 4 years and can only shake my head in disbelief. I wonder about voter fraud. Obviously it means nothing. We have hate groups monitoring poling locations, illegals that vote. Voters who feel they can vote multiple times. As a vet, and reitred LEO, I am scared for my family. God save us. Still prepping…even harder.

Rourke…I echo the thanks and time you have taken to ralley people, and to give information. BE SAFE my friend

  • “I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.”

But I suppose if you are going to give 50 million free stuff, they still want free stuff

Amen, brother. God help us all. I pray for the republic and the foundation it was built upon, that is may weather the storm.

No hope in people, maybe, but always hope in God.

For kingdoms and princes and principalities are established here on earth, by Him the Father. I do not know what his will is other than to say this to shall serve to glorify His Name. I don’t know how o the why. Gods will. But, I also am going to continue to prep for the coming apocalypse.

God have mercy on us all!

you guys are not alone i to am VERY disapointed with this

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor, he speaks in accents familiar to his victims and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

The political system is what it is, there is no reason to be upset by what the outcome is. There will be another election for the house and senate in 2 years and if progress is not made by then, the voters will again have their say.

To be upset at the country because they voted and you did not like the outcome is childish.

Aside from the political post, keep up the good work. I do enjoy reading your blog.

    • Rourke

      DC –

At 42 years old I am neither childish nor patient when it comes to such a comment. I know we have disagreed politically before – but seriously? You have never had your football team loose and was disappointed in the whole team? Obviously not every single person in this country voted the opposite way which I believe – but this country DID reelect the President – much to the demise of it. I am disappoint that this country made the same mistake TWICE.

  • Brad Shaw

I couldn’t agree more with you sir. I now wonder how our newly freed administration will limit our ability to prepare for the coming oppresive actions we will see from a president not concerned with winning re-election. Watching the election come to an end and all camera’s focused on the Obama Campaign headquarters, I was reminded of a line I heard once, “How did the United States of America fall? With cheers of adoration”

  • Tadracket

You nailed it Rourke. I am not looking forward to the next 4 years. I’m afraid our Constitution will see a huge attack in an attempt to bring us into the New World Order of NATO rule. That will include of course the unarming of us all. God help us. – Kevin

  • Swampcat

I’m in agreement with you, Rourke. I am appalled that a nation that had the opportunity and the ability to vote for more freedom did not do so, all in the name of handouts. Regarding the ostensible attitude of the majority of Americans now, Tolstoy hit the nail on the head when he said (paraphrased), “Make us your slaves, but feed us”. It’s going to be a rough ride.

  • I agree with Markus’s comments. We need to remember that no matter what our religion, God is our leader, not Obama. Prep more intensively, and pray more intensively!

  • Oren Player

You are right on target. The Republic our forefathers founded will be forever changed and will not resemble anything you and I grew up with. I fear for our future. I especially fear for the future of my children and grandchildren.

  • Rancher

I can only hope this separates the “talking head” preppers from the few true dedicated one out here. The ever growing entitlement mental illness has finally grown to controlling the majority. If you are foolishly prepping in State which went for the President or narrowly did you will be cleaned out when the SHTF. The masses will simply find you out…you can think you can run or you can think you can hide but I know you will fail in both.

Folks being taken seriously by others let alone yourself starts with just how serious you are about the location you live in and where your retreat is. Until that is correctly settled and acted upon all the rest is honestly… for not.

Research is on the internet as per the top couple … yes couple States/Regions for successful living as per prepping survival. When someone posts about their knowledge and self drive and all that in prepping I first find where they live. If it is a foolish location regardless of their lame excuses like work, family, friends or whatever else I just blow them off.

Relocation the the correct locations and setting up there is the first sign anyone has their act together. So where do you insist on living…or dieing. Never mind the justifications as they will not be heard in that day.

Need some help? Go to and start down the road of hard knocks learning what not to do as much as what to do. Plus others are there to join with.

One last thing…where does John Rourke reside? Ask yourself that…. I reside in north Idaho which is always at the top of the lists.

  • Suni

I cried when I seen the results of the election this morning. I am trying very hard to know in my heart that this is GOD plan for us. GOD up in Heaven knows what his children need and when they need it. I also know that when we ask HIM that sometimes the answer is NO. I just have to believe that GOD has something better in store for us. Today I will take time off to cry for our lost US of my youth but tomorrow will bring a new day that we as US citizens will have to prepare for according to GOD Almighty’s plan and know he will see us through all times good or bad. Bless all the members of this site and also you Rourke. We must get ready it wont be long now.

  • God help the ‘Divided States of Amarica’

Rourke, I think this election presented a false dichotomy. The corporate candidate won, whether it was Romney or Obama, just as one would be hard-pressed to see any significant different from Bush to Obama in most areas. True, Romney and Obama might have pushed for a few differences regarding abortion rights, environmental choices, etc; however, the big issues would be very similar either way regarding economic collapse, foreign policy, and government interference or worse with its own citizens. Any of the third- or fourth-party candidates would have been better. The federal government is and has been broken. As Frank Zappa said, politics is the entertainment arm of industry.
Thanks for your continuing focus on what is really important.

  • Sorry…thats America (sic)

There is always hope. What men intend for evil….God, will use for good.

Based on the number of people I know that are oblivious to the world beyond the screen of their I-phones the election results did not surprise me. It is easy to manipulate a population that is worried their food stamps might be cut off.

I suspect this “Long Emergency” will accelerate and amplify enough that a few more (not enough) will notice. I doubt very much we’ll be better off by the end of this Presidential term, of course that will be the fault of someone else.

  • Jeff

What is sad is that you guys really believe that, move to another country then if your so unhappy with this one, crybabies

  • Jeff M

My heart is broken. My country, the country I like so many others would die for to keep our Constitution and freedoms intact, has committed suicide. Willingly. Blindly. The masses that voted for Obama’s re-election while listening to a media that was complicit in the theft of our Republic, will have to face their deeds when the eventual destruction of our country happens. Oh, they will throw their hands in the air and say they didn’t know as they report on the crumbling nation. All the while they scooped the money from the nightstand after whoring themselves. The demographics of politically correct inclusiveness have taken root and flourished as liberalism has grown. As our brothers and sisters have buried their heads in reality TV, their dependency on the gov has increased as their freedoms have eroded. Feds can install surviellance equipment on your property without a warrant and the courts OK it. More cameras, microphones and drones wacthing and listening.
Where will it end? I stopped trusting the courts, the law and the enforcers of those laws years ago. It will end as it always does, badly.
I will have to redouble my efforts to become as self-sufficient as possible. I will look for another job to speed that cause. I will try my best to position my kids for the life that will now await them in the new America they will have to live in. I will pray that as God disappears from our culture, He will not abandon our country. I will pray and hold on to my beliefs and family as long as I breathe.

  • All I have left to say is……B******t!!!!!!!!!!

  • Derrick W

    Dear Rourke,

I agree with you 100%. Many of us need to spend some time thinking. I have seen the future and this is not the future I want for my children and their children. This principals that this once great country was built on no longer exist. The takers outnumber the makers. Self dependance has turned into a culture of dependance and an attitude of entitlement. The price of this is our freedom.

  • HomeINsteader

You are completely right on every count. As a nation, we are under divine judgment, and Holy G-d has given us “the Muslim King” in His righteous anger. All hell is about to break loose on earth – literally. And Barack HUSSEIN Obama will punish those who did not support him – starting with Christians, no doubt! While the deceived masses jump for joy at his “justice”! Stack it high! And get ready.

  • Patriot One

I think Ecclesiastes 10 says it all. Conservatives and Patriots will be persecuted like the Jew in 1930’s Germany. Good luck to all, I think I’m going to be running silent, deep and possibly unplugged!!

As dead flies give perfume a bad smell,
so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.
2 The heart of the wise inclines to the right,
but the heart of the fool to the left.
3 Even as fools walk along the road,
    they lack sense
and show everyone how stupid they are.
4 If a ruler’s anger rises against you,
    do not leave your post;
calmness can lay great offenses to rest.
5 There is an evil I have seen under the sun,
the sort of error that arises from a ruler:
6 Fools are put in many high positions,
while the rich occupy the low ones.
7 I have seen slaves on horseback,
while princes go on foot like slaves.
    8 Whoever digs a pit may fall into it;
whoever breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake.
    9 Whoever quarries stones may be injured by them;
whoever splits logs may be endangered by them.
10 If the ax is dull
    and its edge unsharpened,
    more strength is needed,
    but skill will bring success.
11 If a snake bites before it is charmed,
    the charmer receives no fee.
12 Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious,
but fools are consumed by their own lips.
    13 At the beginning their words are folly;
at the end they are wicked madness—
    14 and fools multiply words.
No one knows what is coming—
who can tell someone else what will happen after them?
    15 The toil of fools wearies them;
they do not know the way to town.
16 Woe to the land whose king was a servant[a]
and whose princes feast in the morning.
17 Blessed is the land whose king is of noble birth
and whose princes eat at a proper time—
for strength and not for drunkenness.
    18 Through laziness, the rafters sag;
because of idle hands, the house leaks.
19 A feast is made for laughter,
    wine makes life merry,
and money is the answer for everything.
20 Do not revile the king even in your thoughts,
or curse the rich in your bedroom,
because a bird in the sky may carry your words,
and a bird on the wing may report what you say

Agree Rourke….Alexis de Tocqueville was correct:
Tocqueville warned that “modern democracy may be adept at inventing new forms of tyranny, because radical equality could lead to the materialism of an expanding bourgeoisie and to the selfishness of individualism. In such conditions “we lose interest in the future of our descendents…and meekly allow ourselves to be led in ignorance by a despotic force all the more powerful because it does not resemble one.” Tocqueville worried that if despotism were to take root in a modern democracy, it would be a much more dangerous version than the oppression under the Roman emperors or tyrants of the past who could only exert a pernicious influence on a small group of people at a time. In contrast, a despotism under a democracy could see “a multitude of men,” uniformly alike, equal, “constantly circling for petty pleasures,” unaware of fellow citizens, and subject to the will of a powerful state which exerted an “immense protective power”. Tocqueville compared a potentially despotic democratic government to a protective parent who wants to keep its citizens (children) as “perpetual children,” and which doesn’t break men’s wills but rather guides it, and presides over people in the same way as a shepherd looking after a “flock of timid animals.”

  • We, too, are so sad that we didn’t change presidents. We are very fearful for America. We just have to remember that God is in control and this must be part of his plan. I wish we would have been able to go by popularity vote. Keep on helping us to prepare for the uncertain future. We will need all of the help we can get. Thank you so much for your wise and helpful information.

  • GoneWithTheWind

Make no mistake, the unions, NAACP, ACORN and a handful of other groups stole the election. The military ballots were lost or destroyed and unions forced members to vote multiple times. In the coming weeks we will hear about some of the outright fraud but just like previous elections with massive fraud the media won’t waste much time looking into it. Higher taxes, more debt and a weker military. I would say th odds of a nuclear device being detonaed in the Middle East in the next four years is better then even. What then? War? Oil embargo? Russian and Chinese expansion? Hope for the best but prepare because it will get worse…

“A government that robs Peter to pay Paul, can always count on the support of Paul”. GEORGE BERNARD SHAW

If I were a gambling man, I would have bet that Romney would win by landslide. I truly felt that the same things that worked for Obama in 2008 (economic woes), would have worked against him in 2012. Obviously, I was wrong.

I got into prepping in March 2011 because of a video (audio) by a financial adviser named Porter Stansberry. He predicted that our insurmountable debt would bring about the loss of the Petro-dollar and our status has holding the World’s Reserve Currency. He said that the next economic collapse would be much worse than 2008, that there would be riots when the government cut off social programs. A few weeks ago, I listened to another presentation from Stansberry. He said that Obama would win the election, allow for drilling of oil in the United States and we would experience another financial boon. He also stated that Obama would become so popular that he would end the 2 term restriction and win an unprecedented third tour of the White House. Wow.

My feelings are nearly identical to your’s, Rourke. I am scared that the America we’ve defended all these years has been conquered from within. Half of the nation is on the government’s dole. Did we, those opposed to the path of Socialism, actually believe that we had the numbers to overtake these odds? France should have been an indicator of our own, shameful destiny. Personally, I am going to lay low for a while. I have a bad feeling that those people with patriotic views may come under scrutiny. I can only hope that the people that voted for a second term will get exactly what they asked for. May their eyes burn as they watch their children play The Hunger Games. God Save Us.

  • CaptTurbo

They have eyes but do not see. Sad day for AMERICA.

  • Guy

Once again America has elected the democratic socialist Barack Obama.
Barack Obama promises change and a future but that is not evident in the facts.
The states have voted in more tax debt without concern for the future.
Barack Obama has orders federal offices to arrest veterans and imprison them stripping them of their rights.
Barack Obama has tried to undermine our the first amendment.
Barack Obama has tried to undermine our the second amendment.
Barack Obama has issued orders to federal offices to violate the laws passed by congress.
By not enforcing them, not arresting the true criminals and making them pay for their crimes.
Barack Obama has effectively become dictator of the United States

    Dictator Barack Obama

My battle now is to keep and/or take back as much as much as I can.
So I will stop at nothing to take back what is mine.
I will use every method and scam I know to suck at the government tit of Obama.
Every damned Government hand out and benefit that is offered.
When I run out of unemployment I will apply for general relief.
I will even stand in line at the food banks and get my share so no one else can gets it.
    I want my government cheese!
I will apply for a farm subsidy for my garden plot.
I will apply for a livestock subsidy for my dogs.

Dictator Barack Obama will give me a Obama phone so I can look for work ya right.
Dictator Barack Obama will give me welfare money every month.
Dictator Barack Obama will provide me with free Viagra.
Dictator Barack Obama will provide a roof over my head so I have a place to drink and use my Viagra in comfort.

Dictator Barack Obama has taught me that I am all that matters, the individual.
I am all that matters and what I can get today is all that matters to me.
Why should I worry about my children’s debt and their future no one worried about me.
All hail Barack Obama he set us free

  • Gary

Thanks for your thoughts. I feel the same. Every ounce of patriotism I once had for this country evaporated last night. Its apparent that the country has been over run by illegals, liberals, minorities who have their hands out, and people who are actually too stupid t see the differance between right andwrong. You can thank our failed education system and lack of god for these useful idiots. As you said, in terms of preparedness, its time to take a hard look at prepping. No longer for 3 months or 6 months, but rather for years, because the end of this country is on the horizon. I no longer care about anyone else except my friends and family. Wish I knew of a better country to move to. But lets face it, America was the last light of Freedom on this planet, and that light is sadly flickering.

  • John C.

I agree with you all. After giving 20 plus years of my life. In the military to have this happen to our nation is a slap in the face to all thatgthatgave there lives to protect that freedom. Yes God Bless America and all true red bloodeed Americans.

  • nicole

Thank you. I have never felt such sorrow and your words explain my thoughts. I feel a sense of desparation in not knowing what to do to make the next four years livable. Hopefully, over time I will figure it out. I know it’s all ultimately in God’s hands, but I pray that He gives me the insight to take what’s coming and turn it into something positive for my life.

  • The enemies of God have from the beginning of time sought to degrade God’s human creatures to the state of being mere animals. Forcing people to be dependant on government by means of economic slavery is a means to that end. We are locked in mortal combat with the evil that is modernism and communism. Now is the time in the fight to keep the faith and to perfect our lives. Defeat is not on the menu gentlemen. Continue to seek knowledge and the truth. And above all keep the faith.

  • Harry

Just scheduled a live fire drill with 3 of our kids and the nephew for this weekend. Practice, practice, practice.

Part of me says, “Whew, now we don’t have to put up with riots and looting from disgruntled inner city welfare recipients”. Part of me says, “Oh crap, I wonder if I can find out where Mitt stashed his IRA so I can hide mine in the same place?”

Our Country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction, to wit: by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, it’s necessary consequence – Thomas Jefferson

The time is near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves – George Washington

It is not tyranny we desire; it is a just, limited, federal government – Alexander Hamilton

  • I didn’t vote for either of the idiots. I did vote but not for them. Usually we agree with you on almost everything Rourke, but I don’t believe that God or Religion have any place in politics. People believe in different things and if you have a christian attitude and are leading a country with many different religions then you don’t have a clear perspective on how these decisions will affect the country as a whole. I don’t buy into the whole organized religion thing but I do believe in a God figure. Making decisions for the country according to your own moral compass is what got us into this mess. I am glad that the election is over. Do I think that the right person for the job got it? No. I don’t think that either candidate is truly up to the job. We need to clear out congress and start over if we expect anything to get done. Congress is where the problems are.

  • Trailoftears

I am also disappointed but not by the election results, but people who claim to be preppers relying on another person to defend their beliefs and speak for them! I have “NEVER” put my faith in anyone but my Lord and myself in that order. Man is fallible it’s their human nature. Some of you prepared for the flood but not the fire, ready for the high winds but not the earthquake! Shame on you!!! I prepared for either Obama or Romney winning this election because unlike you I wait for no man to come to my aid. Now get up dust off and “PREP” there is work to be done, no matter who is in the White House. Sandy or man made storms don’t care!!

  • Russ

My heart is so heavy with the thought of an ungodly man in the place of leadership of our country once again. I mourn for the disaster that is coming on our country and for the loss and suffering which our children and grandchildren will face because of this election, for the murder of unborn millions and perhaps the forced deaths of many of us as we age.

Perhaps God is using him to chastise and humble our nation and through the coming four years to cause people’s hearts to be open once again to Him. I don’t know what God’s plan is for us, but I believe he is still in charge of our world. Still I mourn for the loss of the things and freedoms we had when growing up, which our children and grandchildren may never now experience. I mourn for those who will go hungry and be cold and continue to loose their homes and jobs. I mourn for those who are now and will be forced to live by the grace of government programs, because they cannot support themselves or care for their families.

I know that it is hard not to loose heart at times like this, but having our hope centered on something greater and more lasting is what gives us the ability to continue on in this world.

Paul’s words in Romans 8:35-39 reminds us of the hope we have in Christ.

“35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?

36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”)

37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (NLT)

    R. L.

  • I guess there are a lot of us in the dumps today. Actually, that’s very understandable, as we are all seeing the country we know and love being stolen and butchered. We have a lot to be sad about, and a lot of thinking.
Okay, let’s give it a day to be sad. Then let’s be pissed, and redouble our efforts, each in his own way. Now is the time to strengthen our families, our friendships, and our communities. We can’t let ourselves get bogged down arguing and responding to small minds. Rather, let’s dust ourselves off, and lead by example to bring others into the light and back to the Constitution. We have a mighty country, one that is still worth saving. It’s up to us now to be strong.
Thanks, Rourke for all you do, and for the inspiration you bring to us all. So let’s do our thinking together, then get on with it. We are not alone, and I believe our numbers are growing, and will grow even more in the next few months. Thanks again. As Jim said, Hang in there!

  • Ani

I tossed and turned all night ~ I’ve lost a lot of belief in fellow Americans ~ I truly thought it was a no brainer but apparently I was too accurate ~ they definitely no brained it and now we have another 4 yrs of the same and worse ahead of us. I find it interesting, the comment from Germany ~ how is it that outside the US, the people can see beyond this wool being pulled over his lies ~ I worry about what is next to come ~ and yes too am very saddened.

  • Navy91

Honestly, I have no more hope for this nation either. Too many people now understand that they can vote themselves money.

The country I served during the 80’s, and the one I was taught about in history classes… is gone. The Constitution, as it was written, has been shredded to such an extent that I don’t believe the country our forefathers founded exists anymore.

I too, have much to think about. Who is John Galt?

  • KDS9601

Indeed. We are a family that MOST of which have voted against Obama. Scares the you know what out of me for sure! time to really get moving.

  • Kathy

Amen, Rourke. I feel like I’m in mourning. Got to rethink everything and do some hard planning and prepping.
Look up, though, as God is in control of this mess.

I am 65 years old, a direct descendant from the original colonization of Florida in 1768. My family has fought & defended the homes they craved out of a hostile land through English Tyranny, Revolution, Civil War, devestating Hurricanes, profound growth & ethnic transitions. I know first hand from the histories of my family handed down through the generations of their profound belief in what is just & a relentless determination to succeed. I am still here molded from sterner stuff. To all those that will come after me I can only say never stop talking about politics. Never give in or give up on what you believe if it is fair & just. It is for that right that these brave men & women crossed oceans over 200 years ago & came here. As I have said before one voice is only a whisper, several are a conversation & the many are a shout! The Prepper Movement fights everyday to preserve, protect & sustain a way of life they believe in no matter what consequences befall them. Through tremendous sacrifice for most they have committed to a way of life in order to protect the very foundation this country was built on. What an enviable herritage that is to pass on to their own children. It is why I so admire this movement. In its roots are the same foundation our Country was founded on. I have also said before that I precieved rocky roads ahead. But it is not a road less traveled! In the Prepper Movement & all it embodies lies hope. Keep Prepping. Keep Sharing. Keep encouraging & enlighting the poor souls like me who wander into this movement as I did a year ago. It holds the heart beat of the true America. The next 4 years like all thing will pass. It may be awful. I truly doubt from the vantage point that I look back on that it could possibly be great & it may turn out to be even really terrible. But I look to all of you to keep doing what you do so best because like my ancestors I personally refuse to give in, or give up. Thank You Rourke for being who you are. You are so much more than a ripple in the stream & for many like myself you have shown them the road to salvation in unstable times. Linda

Rourke…you are not alone…while America has been taken over by a communist wolf in sheep’s clothing..Australia is in the process of being destroyed by a Fabian Government, led by a lesbian Prime minister. She worships your Black “Commo” President, and follows Agenda 21 programs to the tee. I believe that the UN program for a new world order is now unstoppable. I am not being defeatist…I am being realistic…I despair for the children of the world..they do not deserve to be ruled by Godless Socialists. There is an old ‘truism’…”the cream rises to the top”…It needs to be revised…the crap rises to the top. Look at the ‘top’ of every institution…big pharma…big biz…Govt…..the legal system…yes..even most religious organisations…THE CRAP SITS AT THE TOP. Prepare..tighten the belt…become self sufficient…do not spend a cent that does not need to be spent..especially with any of the above mentioned Globalists. G.O.O.D….while the going is good. Aussie Mick.

I understand, I am heart broke, sad, and prayerful. This once great nation that has provided some glimmer of hope for the world and that glimmer went out last night.
As I write this I am getting reports from the North end of Idaho troops have been seen and they are not American. Are they training or is it the start. I have not seen this for myself, I will head toward Canada to look .
Be Prepared, Be Prayerful , Be Thankful – YOU are still an American

  • Jim

Markus, thank you for the prayers, But I think we are already screwed. This country has completely taken God out of the equation, and I think the payment for this sin will be nasty. I really feel sorry for my daughter, son in law and granddaughters. They will pay for our arrogance. I am 47 and have lived a good life; besides, I know where I am going when it ends and I will be in a much better place. I am not scared, just a little frustrated

  • Ed Johnson

I have a question…. since when did it become the responsiblilty of government to ensure that every american has god in thier lives? Our forefathers ensured that there was a seperation between church and state, correct?

  • Ninjaclerk

I agree my friend. Today is not a good day. *sigh* I am too depressed to even type much more than that.

  • Tactical Daddy

Hi Rourke. I’m sorry… I TRULY am… I don’t live in the states anymore but I grew up in the states… I lived there since I was 1 till I was 10 years old. I have fond memories of pledging allegiance to the flag: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under god, with liberty and justice for all. From what I hear the pledge has been removed from many schools… Darn shame!
I was lucky enough to live in the states when Ronald Reagan was in the oval office. I’m not saying he could save the states today… Too many sheeple today I belive…

Remember the 2nd amendment? (From Wikipedia) “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” I truly hope your president bears in mind that the only reason the amercan people are the only, truly, free people is because of the 2nd amendment.

On a personal note I’ll be stepping up my personal preps and looking anxiously towards the future.
Rouke: Keep your powder dry and keep vigilant!

    Two takes on the “Election”.
It is indeed a sad day when the population is so duped/dependant as to be blind, deaf, and dumb when at least offered a slightly lesser evil than the one in place; or even a third “party” alternative. I guess the internet is for social media only and not education/information sharing.

One can hope and pray those that did not participate in the whole purchase of power game [“if voting mattered they would not let you” (S.L.C.)] are too busy preparing to survive and restore a constitutional republic when this once great nation sucumbs to greed and the one world concept to play.

  • CM

Any day above ground is good.

That being said, be sure preps for the long term are in place. Not just freeze-dried food, water, etc. Make sure you have seed, properly packaged for the long term, tools – gardening and carpentry, hardware – nails, nuts, bolts and such to maintain equipment like wheel barrows, axes, shovels, you name it.

The usual bean, bullets and bandaids will only go so far. If things go south as fast in the next few years as in the last four, then we may have to be ready for a MUCH longer recovery time – maybe 6 or 10 years… Years with soaring costs of food, fuel, medical expense, hyperinflation is a possibility too.

Hand tools, useful without power, everything from screwdrivers, hammers, saws, wrenches, anything you can find at garage sales, should be had in multiples if you have a place to store them. Losing a tool and not having a replacement could be a small disaster in its own right when you have limited time and resources.

Just a start on my own list – most of which is covered but which I also plan to expand ASAP.

I could not have said it better and I can’t agree with you more!

  • K R

It’s a sad day in either case. Neither one of them were fit for the office. We’ve been goin to hell in a handbasket ever since Kennedy was shot (and I’m old enough to remember it). The Replicans destroyed the greatness of this country with the demise of the middle class (starting with Reagan’s ‘trickle down my ass’ bullshit); the corrupt bastards that pocket all the money and run off to tax shelters expecting the BUSINESS of government to work for free! Any other ‘business’ would have them charged with embezlement! The Dems wanna socialize and enslave us. The Reps wanna wage slave us. Either way it’s still slavery! Have I ever worked for a poor man? Obviously! They HAD to be poor, as all claimed they could not afford to pay good enough wages to keep me off of foodstamps and pay the rent, and the doctor, and the power company, and the garbageman, and the water, and the car payment, and the insurance on the car, and the gas to drive it to the place that “couldn’t afford to pay me better”. And don’t blame it ALL on goober-mental regulation! Goober-mental regs NEVER STOPPED THEM from cutting my throat for a LUXURY they wanted! Make no mistake – I’ve got nothing against a man being richer than god – it’s when he cuts my throat or starves my family to get there that I take umbrage! And I don’t worry about IF they take my gun. If I really need one, I’ll take a pipe, a rock, and firecracker and make my own; shoot him, take HIS gun and ammo and be done with it! I’ll even make my own firecracker if need be.

Best on ya, Rourke! Hope ya don’t shut the site down yet. When the collapse comes I’ll miss ya and hope we get to meet after the fact. Maybe even trade off some more knowledge.

  • jarhead1987

I agree with you 100% John.

God knows what is in store for us.

All I can do is hope that we can win the fight against the tyranny that is about to rear it’s ugly head in this great country of ours.

Good luck to all of those who count themselves as patriots.

Last night I watched the death of The United States of America as we knew it. Although it has been on life support for the last generation or so, I had hoped that we could cure the disease eating away at our flag. As for myself it is time to reevaluate my preparedness situation. My prayers are with us all and God Bless America

  • Dan

I agree. I was blindsided by the election. I work for the government, but I don’t know if it is the path I can stomach to stay on anymore. The caribbean is sounding good right about now.

  • I am totaly confused at your letter Rourke, as confused as the postings on this page, I didn’t read all of them, sorry, but I coulden’t. I am confused because of the ingorance. We all knew what was coming, come on, down deep we ALL KNEW. Besides that we are all recieving just what we deserve, that monkey in the white house is our judgement, how many times has YHVH used Kings and leaders to destroy a country, destroy a people, nothing new here, it is the judgement we deserve for the lack of serving the true God. Look at what we have allowed to take place in this country for the past 60 years, how many of us did one single thing to stop the murder of 50 million helpless baby’s, you think he dosen’t know what we have done, or the lack of what we have done? How about the perversion we have all turned our heads to.
Yes this is our judgement, or should I say the begging to our judgement, cause we haven’t seen any thing yet.
And there ain’t nutten gunna stop it less we all and I mean “all” repent, and ya all should look up the true meaning to that word, cause that’s the only help we could possable hope for.
All I can say is are you “prepared”.

Rourke hit the nail on the head. Additional reading on this issue of America’s demise can be found on Amazon. One very credible book is the The Collapse of Complex Societies (New Studies in Archaeology) by Joseph Tainter and published by the Cambridge University Press. Another good book is suicide of a superpower by Pat Buchanan.
If you want to study what we are about to go through, look at what happened to the Soviet Union. One good book is Reinventing Collapse: The Soviet Experience and American Prospects by Dmitry Orlov. It will give you a real world example to study.

  • Ted

I haven’t read any other comments so this might have been said. People get their lives upset all the time, A death, bankruptcy, illness, a change in the political structure (you get the idea) but life goes on and sometimes it will never return to how it was before. I believe this is one of those times. As someone else said we can survive a president like O for 8 years but can we survive a population that elects him? I think we have reached a tipping point and what America was will not exist again but something like it may arise someday. Franklin stated: “We have given you a Republic, if you can keep it.” I am sorry to say we may have failed.
So now what do we do? Life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Be thankful it is not as bad as it could be. Keep your standards and live them. I am taking stock of what I have, should have and should dispose of. I have no desire to leave and do not know where to go if I did. I know there are many Americans that believe the same as I do basically. We adapt the same as people have when turmoil destroyed their status quo. A new test will come in two years and we will see where America is then. Good luck and stay strong.

  • John Gault

Rourke, I understand the disappointment and frustration you feel. And I can appreciate your concern for this nations future…… I share them all. But if I might at least try to cull them a bit. This election was not a referendum on our American way of life, nor a turn away from our Republic and an acceptance of socialism, the electorate did not vote in mass for free stuff. It was in fact, a vote for the Status Quo. Little has changed, the same president, senate and house, the balance of power hasn’t changed. Yes we lost some fine warriors…. Allen West among them, but this is not a sea change. If this had been a sea change election the house would have been swept of conservatives and replaced by the far left. Several states elected Conservative governors….. Pat Mccrory, in a state right next to you. Pat is a powerful voice for the conservative movement and has a bright future. 30 states are now run by Conservatives, a powerful statement in itself.

We lost this battle, but the war goes on…. this country has faced challenges from both outside and in for 230 something years. Graver troubles than we face now it has conquered. Think about our countries history, The men and women who have fought for it, the challenges our fathers and grandfathers have faced, I doubt they would shrink from the troubles we face today, they would likely gather themselves…. men and women from across a nation, a nation like no other, brush off the loss and plan the next insurgency.

A cold look at this election – It’s nearly impossible to unseat an incumbent, no republican has done it in 100 years…. other than Reagan. A protective media and 8 months of negative adds in swing states against Romney, started while he was still fighting for the nomination couldn’t be overcome …. this time. The war on women was a failure…. oh the media will tell you Romney lost women by 30%. What they won’t tell you is if you remove black women (who voted for O because he’s a democrat and black) the women’s vote was even.

The negative adds were ruthless, relentless and ridiculous. The electorate to lazy, busy, ignorant or stoned to believe what they see with their own eyes instead of what their told…. all a perfect storm….. but not permanent and not insurmountable in the future. Our nations demographics are changing, we need to deal with it but the popular vote was almost evenly split this time, and we have logic and an historical record to use in future battles. Step away from the ledge Rourke, the sun rose this morning, it will again in the next.

I hope you will reconsider your not posting on politics/government…. does not government actions influence preps? I frankly could go on and on but I’m into my 8th beer and it’s late. There is a saying “Prepare for the worst and hope for the best” I would add to that…. “Prepare for the worst, hope for the best, and fight for everything in-between.

    John Gault- somewhere in Georgia

    • Rourke

      Mr. Gault –

I have to respectfully disagree. I believe this election – as well as the pathetic turn out – was nothing but a sign of the current rapid changing within our society and country. The challenger was not the solution – though we will never find out for sure. This election was very possibly THE election which to prevent or slow our decent. What it ended up being was a turn of the switch for the nitrous, and now we will accelerate towards collapse. Four years from now we are likely sit on a national debt of 20 trillion dollars. It will never be paid back. I believe this elected guaranteed our collapse….period.

There may be a light at the end of your tunnel.

Just wait until Dec 21 and see if your mother ship comes back to pick all of you up and take you home.

It is sad to see that some of us see the true as lies and take it to heart.

Maybe others will call the Mr. Obama, President Obama when they talk about him and show him the respect that he has earned and given the credit that is due him from the past four years.

Dooms day may be near but not all of us will be gone.

If you feel you have to leave please do.

There is always someone to take your place and if not well it just ends.

  • MI Patriot

To rephrase Michelle Obama…for the first time I am NOT proud of my country. With that said, the people who voted Obama back in are the people who get “free” stuff. My husband and I figure it will take at least 2 years for the STHTF. To say I was stunned by the election is putting it mildly. I guess getting free stuff trumps freedom from oppression from our gov’t. Our founding fathers are spinning in their graves.

We have stepped up our preps and are getting prepared for what will be the NWO and the end of America as we know it.

  • Henk

I was moved by your post. I think I was in some sort of shock yesterday. I functioned on autopilot as I made my way through the work day. I noted that people were not talking much at work or looking each other in the eye. I didn’t feel like talking to anyone either. I did send a text to my big brother. He has always been a great comfort to me ever since I was little. I asked him, “What do we do now?” He responded with few words, “The best we can.”
This morning I look around and realize I have not done the best I can. My garden plots still need to be readied for the winter. I still have squash, pumpkin and sweet potato waiting for me to put them up.There are woodpiles that need to be moved closer to the house. I have not canned meat like I was so determined to do. I have not practiced enough with my personal protective equipment. There are still items on my major purchase list that I just haven’t wanted to spend the money to obtain. I gave up on organizing a local group of people who could come together if needed. I have lots of talking to do with family members. I could go on. My husband and I have done quite a lot over the last 4 years or so and today it seems like nothing.
Bottom line is that I have not done the best that I can. For about the last 6 months I have gotten comfortable with where I am and slowed down. This has been a very big wake up call for me.
I am recommitted to doing what needs to be done. I am still not hopeful. I am not even guardedly optimistic. But I will be prepared.
God bless you Rourke. I so appreciate what you do. God bless America.

  • JW

I wholeheartedly agree with Phil’s post. It was a sad day when George W. Bush stoled the election too. And it was even more disappointing when the Obama message of “Hope and Change” turned out to be one of “Hopelessness and Submission”. To pin the salvation of this country on the election of Mitt Romney is too simplistic.
We have watched as our rights have been legislated out of existence. Yet we do nothing.

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
    – Thomas Jefferson
My best to you all and keep on prepping.

  • Rourke

Thank you all for your thoughts and comments – even if I did not agree with all of them. It is unfortunate that several visitors – even some that come here often – made the choice to leave a hateful and spiteful comment. I deleted them – something I rarely do but probably should more often.

I have calmed down and remain frustrated. I have my beliefs in what this election meant form the country and my eventual response is……”prepare”. Become rededicated and take it more seriously. We are in for a long haul, problematic existence in the future. Time frame? I have no idea. I am going to take steps – many of them baby steps – in the direction of putting myself in a position that regardless of what society or the governmental becomes it will have minimal effect on me and my family.
