A six-month supply of water? Are you kidding me? Who has the space for that? Some survival based stuff out there is useful information, some is fear mongering malarkey. I’m putting this video in the latter category. I am aware of the vulnerability of our supply chains and logistics. Never more than three days of food on the shelves, all that. But I don’t see how hyperinflation will lead to a societal collapse. Take a couple of recent examples of countries that had sudden economic meltdowns–Cuba in the 1990′s and Argentina in the 2000′s. What happened were reduced services, higher crime, higher prices, and shortages of goods, but life pretty much carried on as before, though the quality suffered. I do agree that black markets would spring up, but the gist of this video is pure speculation. Life would not be very pleasant during hyperinflation, but it’s not going to lead to a total breakdown of society.

Patrick –
I would agree that the video most likely reprresents a “worst case scenario” of what might happen – not what is likely. I do not think that it is just fear mongering – just one one end of the “severity spectrum”. As I ended the post with – gives you something to think about.
6 months worth of water? That would be a lot!!!!
Thanks for the comment –
