Gulf Oil Disaster………
This is my first post on the Gulf oil spill.
I am not trying to be paranoid – however I am hearing pieces of information here and there that have increased my concern substantially. The Alex Jones show interviewed Lindsey Williams with some interesting knowledge and supposedly inside information regarding the Gulf situation. Now – I don’t agree with half of what is on the Alex Jones show, but……..There is information being put out there that this spill will NOT be able to be capped. Did you catch that – that it cannot be capped. This means oil will continue to leak into the Gulf for many months – possibly years to come. This oil will be dispersed throughout the area as well as travel off the East Coast of the United States.
Why? There is information out there that this drilling hit a pocket of oil unlike anything hit before. BP informants have leaked that they were drilling some 25,000 feet below the bottom of the ocean – which was 5,000 feet below the surface of the ocean. When they hit the high pressure pocket – the oil traveled up the drill and hit a safety “burst disc” which impeded the flow of the oil for just a split second. This created back-pressure just prior to the complete rupture. This back-pressure can be seen as there are additional plume’s (ruptures) miles away from the original site on the sea bed.
Apparently the pressure that this reserve is exhibiting is much greater than normal – and that no developed equipment on the face of the planet can stop the release of the oil. Meaning if it cannot be contained and captured – it will remain flowing non-stop.
According to the interview the only answer to stop the flow is a small tactical nuclear weapon. Of course environmentalists would freak out on mentioning that. They would not be happy regardless of what is done. The danger of using the nuclear weapon is the chance that the shock-wave could cause additional fractures – which could magnify the problem.
Listen to the full interview here. I recommend it – for what it is worth as it may be a load of crap and the spill may get stopped tomorrow.
To sum is up – we very well might be screwed. If you know anything about an ecosystem then you know that everything is connected one way or another – there is a delicate balance. Unbalance that ecosystem and it could be destroyed. So if the spill is as bad as some of the leaked information says it is – it is truly just a matter of time before those no where near the Gulf are effected.
Oh, did I mention anything about the poisonous gases being released as well – benzene and hydrogen sulfide?
Now – Rush Limbaugh did a comparison on his radio show recently. He stated that if the spill continues to dump oil into the Gulf at its current rate until the end of August – that the total amount of oil compared to the total amount of water in the Gulf is actually minimal. He gave a bunch of facts and figures – from where they comes from I do not know. It was all summarized by stating the total volume of oil placed in the Gulf thru the end of August would be like having 1 millionth of an once of oil in your bath tub and it is filled with water. Basically he was saying it is nothing and the Gulf will recover within a few years.
So – you have some people saying it is a disaster unlike anything we have ever seen before and will have long-term implications – while others are saying “don’t overreact it is not that bad”.
What do you think?
Take care all -
Rourke

My opinion on the gulf spill is, yes it is horrible. This has been an unfortunate lesson learned and I am sure going forward it will be much safer. Our focus at this time should be stop the flow, limit the damage, and clean it up. Then point blame, because there is enough to worry about now. I am surprised our military does not have any technology that can be of use to help stop it.
