Great information resource: Mother Earth News website

I have a new resource of information that I have been spending more and more time on – the website for Mother Earth News magazine.

MotherEarthNews.com is packed with great information ranging from Gardening to Modern Homesteading. Articles are abundant and there are also many videos as well.

I know many of my readers do not like the political stance that the magazine obviously takes – however I would not let that get in the way of the information they provide.

Here are a few articles with links that caught my eye:

The website is organized in several ways. First – there is a “Search Box” where you can enter keywords for what you are looking for. Next – there are category pages such as Organic Gardening, Modern Homesteading, Do It Yourself, Natural Health, Sustainable Farming……and more.

I am big into gardening – and have found Mother Earth News magazine to be of great assistance as I continue my “growing” journey each year.  Their website contains great information as well.

    MEN has gone through several re-inventions by the editors. I subscribed for many years but got sick and tired of financially supporting left wingers so I stopped my subscription for the magazine. A couple of years back they somehow got a hold of my home phone number and began relentlessly calling at all hours of the night and day. I finally threatened them with a law suit and they stopped calling. Beware….No matter how good the information surely it is available elsewhere.

    If you like Mother Earth News’ site, check out Backwoods Home Magazine (www.backwoodshome.com). Tons of practical info on self-sufficiency, food production and storage, etc.
    (I have no affiliation with BHM other than being a very satisfied subscriber)

    I’m amazed how people will get in a huff over some political talk in Mother Earth News and cancel their subscription, yet can’t take the time to write to a congress person. Please.

    The amount of knowledge to be gleaned from the pagers of this magazine (I subscribe) and website far outweigh the ranblings of a few WAY out there hippies. However I will say that I do read the articles on GMO crops and meat, makes me want to get into goats and meat chickens in a big way. (I already get my own eggs from my chicken tractors.)

    Now if I can just get MY garden to look so weed-free and organized.

    I subscribed from day 1 and kept all of them. I have over 100 of the old magazines. A treasure trove of good info. I agree that the new version of MEN cannot hold a candle to the old one but that seems to be true of many things.
