From the Desk of John Rourke – September 22nd, 2015

The mainstream media is having a field day with what Ben Carson recently said about not supporting a Muslim to run for President. I would have to say at least 90% of America would agree with him. I would not vote for a Muslim either. Does that make me prejudice? Call it what you wish. Although many Muslims are loyal to non-Muslim governments that is NOT what the Quran  teaches.

The ridiculous thing is this is a needless question that has no basis or merit to even be asked. Just a pundit trying to get a news story for the masses. Real reporting? Not even close.

Concerned about the nuclear arms deal with Iran? Should be. It has been disclosed that Iran provided its own samples to the International Atomic Energy Agency from a site which was previously suspected of nuclear arms work.

Question: What is the thing that you are lacking on in your preps? Something you keep forgetting about or doesn’t take precedent but something you keep meaning to get.

  1. A couple of recent quotes on this subject. The first is mine , the second from a bit loftier source.

Regarding: Should a Muslim be allowed to be president?
The constitution says that there should be no religious test.
    Muslim is not a religion.
Islam is also not a religion.
It is a political system apparently based on a the sociopathic mindset of a pedophile, serial killer that praises and honors conscienceless brutal murder.
    Most Muslims follow Islam.
The goal of Islam is the destruction of all people and governments other than the Caliphate.
Would you allow a serial killer to reside in the oval office?
Where do we draw the line, at Hannibel Lector?
Islam defined is no religion. and should not fall under religious protections.
(perhaps the Muslim date site will now stop spamming me)

    Sam Adams 1772

“In regard to religion, mutual toleration in the different professions thereof is what all good and candid minds in all ages have ever practised, and, both by precept and example, inculcated on mankind. And it is now generally agreed among Christians that this spirit of toleration, in the fullest extent consistent with the being of civil society, is the chief characteristical mark of the Church. Insomuch that Mr. Locke has asserted and proved, beyond the possibility of contradiction on any solid ground, that such toleration ought to be extended to all whose doctrines are not subversive of society. The only sects which he thinks ought to be, and which by all wise laws are excluded from such toleration, are those who teach doctrines subversive of the civil government under which they live.”

  2. Years ago, Turkey Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who himself dreams of becoming caliph of all Muslims and leading them into a new Ottoman empire, admitted in a speech part of the jihads strategy for conquering the west. “Democracy is merely a train that we ride until we reach our goal. Mosques are our military barracks, minarets are our spears, and domes are our helmets.” This has been an effective strategy of muslim groups like CAIR for some time now, to use our democracy against us.

  3. I agree with you Rourke. I think it’s a slippery slope of violence that history has proven the religion of islam has taken over and over repeatedly. Some people will try to compare the dark days of the Christianity with the crusades, the Winston Salem witch hunts, etc. Which is not a correct comparison. Yes, they happened and yes they were bad. However, that has not happened again for how many years/decades/ions now? On the contrary islam has never stopped doing what they are doing and the people have never stood up to it. In fact part of their book calls…for a caliphate. For those foolish people who think that this is not their goal…here.

The fabel of the scorpion trying to cross the pond on the back of a turtle comes to mind on this topic Also, according to Sam, mutual toleration is possible when BOTH sides can reach that level based on mutual respect. Islam, cannot…it think this link summarizes it perfectly and how you should beware. Notice I did not say be racist or ugly to Muslims. I said, beware.

The Iran deal? Yeah, very aware of it. When the dialog with Iran started a while back our group changed our property search from 2 hours out to over 4. Far enough away from a dirty bomb detonation. This also goes back to the trigger point post.

  4. Sharia Law will never be accepted in this country. It goes against all that we have been taught since the beginning of this Constitutional Republic. We don’t need a fanatical ideology such as this! It would be like stepping back into the days of the Crusades. CAIR has already been recognized as a militant organisation. For all we know Obama is probably a member! They try to take over this Gov’t. and it would make the Civil War look like a cake walk. Don’t need some moron in the top of a Minaret wailing his head off, Remember what Obama said “nothing more beautiful than a call to prayers coming from the minaret” or something too that effect. This is America and if they can’t assimilate then they can go back to the sand pile they came from!

  5. Seems I remember there being all sorts of hand wringing from the left during the last election on Romney being a Mormon and if that alone might interfere with him carrying out his duties as President. I guess their position on this has evolved over time. It’s true that the government cannot have a litmus test on the religious beliefs of someone wanting to run for office, but we, individually have every right. We can choose to support or not any candidate based on whatever we decide is important. A christian has every right to support only christian candidates if they choose just as an athiest has a right to support only other athiest candidates. To suggest anything else is dishonest……

  6. I too agree it would not work with our founding document, however we have seen it already supplant local governments in some states where sharia courts have been used to resolve conflicts that should be handled by US courts. Case in point Dearborn Michigan where in a 4-3 vote 2 YEARS AGO the city council voted to fully implement Sharia Law.

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing” Edmund Burke

“He who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security” Ben Franklin

  7. You know, I seriously wasn’t aware another Muslim was running for president!! Hmmm . .
Iran? Well, Obama handed them just about the whole hen house . .
My preps? I need to stock more coffee as actually keep running out . .

  8. D. John Gault, CaptMichaels, and all, the sheeple will go for anything if the right sales pitch is made, our current resident in the White House proves that, For my preps, more money to buy the things I think I need and wife who does not try to second guess me.

  9. Its better to prep a little at a time than not at all. My husband recently told me we have enough. I said ok but while I wont order any more from EE etc.I can certainly stock up on the sale items at the grocery store. We learn to be creative -smile !!!
We must fight against Sharia law and the radical Muslims at every turn and opportunity.
You are all a great community for me-thanks. Arlene

  10. In our last neighborhood, in Orange County, California, in a NICE area, we had a houseful of Afghani Islamists that lived 4 houses away. They were incredibly intolerant of the entire neighborhood which WAS ethnically and religiously diverse. We all got along well with each other, and ALL attempts to be nice to the Afghani-Islamists were rebuffed by them, because we were(and still are) infidels. They physically threatened our next door neighbors(Jews from Iran) simply because they were Jewish. The list could go on near-endlessly. I’ve so little respect for that bunch because of their actual behavior towards others, that for them to demand “tolerance” where THEY get a free pass for giving NONE, is reprehensible. Screw ’em. Worship how, where or what you may, but Sharia Law will never be accepted in Free America at all. If necessary another “civil war” would re-establish the Constitution as THE actual Law of this Republic. I’m all for freedom OF religion, but for any person or groups of persons that demand “special religious courts” is simply not acceptable in our Republic and not at all in keeping with what the framers of the Republic designed.
So, tolerance goes BOTH ways, and CAIR is a shill organization and nothing else. I’ve no need to apologize to anyone or any group for MY personal beliefs. The Islamists ARE THE PROBLEM.

  11. Carson didn’t say what they implied he said ..
dumb !. just a news story and deliberate misread .. to get it..

On the islam thing .. Civil war is an eventuality if out gutless government doesn’t do what the law and Constitution dictate.
Maybe not .. then if not we deserve what we get ..
The tree of liberty has always been fed with the blood of patriots or at least those willing to feed it. Sadly or perhaps not it takes the blood of others as well ..
War happens when diplomacy and Congressional dictum fail. I really do hope not .. Of course hero’s and Martyrs both arrive at the last minute, often inthe guise of unknown men and women who will not sacrifice principle for political or fiscal expedience.
You never see it in the act.. it’s always historians and only those of the victors scribe that are remembered most often.
so who will win ? Time will tell

  12. Goingray 58…….SO true, that you don’t SEE it when it is taking place. History records it from hindsight though. It also quite often is not the complete story. That incompleteness skews most people’s understanding and expectations in situations they don’t expect to visit their personal lives. Things happen fast and without even realizing it, key players in past events have been thrust or more remarkably, jumped into the gap to make the difference. i see most all of you here on MSO as that kind of individual. Thank you Rourke and all for helping those of us who are trying to keep up. Goingray58, wanted you to know over the past several months your posts have directly impacted what i do in my preps. i see the info and advice to us all as your”jumping into the gap”on a daily basis…maybe on a less noticeable level, but a sure impact on future events. Thank You.
What do i need to address in my prepping? The biggest issue you all help with….that’s my mindset. How i will deal with and respond to the crisis. Arlene, you spoke truth-going at the prep bit by bit because of resistance is still possible and my main mode of operation 🙂 i have focused more recently on stocking the ABILITY to provide in the future though. Where/how to find what is needed is the central issue. I read alot-mostly how to. Fiction is not on the current agenda 🙁 alas…love a good book ! Would say my prep library is bigger than most.
BUT ….i look for the next unexpected gem you all will post ! Thank you again Rourke for orchestrating the meeting of these minds !!!
