From the Desk of John Rourke – October 16th, 2015

Prediction: There will be a run on guns, magazines and ammunition.

Yeah – guess you don’t have to be Nostradamus to see it coming with the recent mass shootings and elections approaching. Posts like this likely fuel the frenzy but let’s be realistic. Gun control proponents continue to have “ammunition” to move their agenda forward and the Liberal side of the Presidential race make no attempt to hide their anti-gun beliefs.

Think about this – Right now ammunition is very inexpensive as well as magazines. The time to stock up is now – not when we get closer to the upcoming elections. Firearms as well have dropped in price. A very good AR carbine is available for right at $500 complete. That is a good deal.

Magazines are cheap. Can’t have too many and if there is a run on these again they can be traded or sold with substantial value.

Don’t get caught behind the 8 ball.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Why do we have a migrant crisis and an uncontrollable migrant crime wave in all of Europe and Australia: THE TAXPAYING POPULATIONS OF THOSE COUNTRIES DO NOT OWN GUNS. THEY WERE DISARMED DECADES AGO AND ARE NOW REAPING THE REWARDS OF NOT KNOWING SMITH AND WESSON, REMINGTON, GLOCK, AND SUCH. I CANNOT IMAGINE NOT BEING ABLE TO DEFEND MYSELF AND HAVE NO INTENTION OF FINDING OUT. NO GUNS; NO PEACE, KNOW GUNS; KNOW PEACE. THANKS

  2. I’m always amazed at the run on ammo, mags, firearms, etc. To me it’s more poor planning than anything, especially for those who have been around the block more than once.

    • Max – Good to hear from you. Yes it may be poor planning or often the case just a “what if I can’t ever buy any more?” reaction. In that case you just couldn’t have enough.

  3. Oh yeah, I agree. There will be a gun run again. I see it slowly building momemtum, but it will build. I’m guessing/hoping it wont be as bad. Since the last few “runs” people already built up a pretty good base. So I’m guessing they wont be as much of hysteria like the first few times.

@taxn2poverty. Your correct IMO, like most of us here when it comes to protection. For example:

Israelis invest in firepower as knife attacks rise
    http://news.yahoo.com/israelis-invest-firepower-knife-attacks-rise-035421290.html

But most of us here already know this. Two things you clearly see here. Number one: banning guns does NOT stop violence. People who are mentally unstable will find a way to kill other people, like using knives. Number two: people are going to arm themselves with guns to stop physco’s

Don’t let the violatel market or roller coaster social life freak you out. You just enjoy life while staying on course. Slow and steady. On another note. It’s going to be a good weekend. Looking forward to that ice cold Fat Tire waiting on me this weekend 🙂

  4. I bought into the last run on guns and ammo, from 2013 to 2014. NOT THIS TIME! With my oldest starting a Division One university this August, I CANNOT AFFORD ANY MORE! Other than the last 2 weapons that we bought (.308 WIN & .22 WMR),I exceeded my goals per caliber earlier this year. Honestly, it can become like an addiction. Watching for the sales online, waiting for “Free Shipping” offers, setting caps on purchases “Well, as long as I’m under $200.00”! I am sitting at my computer right now, fighting off ordering 1000 rounds of .223 REM for only 320 bucks. That is as close to pre-Sandy Hook pricing that I’ve seen. But, I CAN’T do it. I have another kid in 11th grade. He’ll hate me if I tell him “No college for you”.

  5. At least the shortage of 22lr seems to be getting better. Recently have been able to gather up quite a bit to stash away and also have extra to zero in both of my 22s. Mosin ammo has gone up quite a bit from what it was glad I stocked up when the price was down, before Obama pissed off the Russians. Even green tip ap rounds for my AR have become more readily available. Don’t know how long this will last but getting more just to be safe.
