Gardening Tip: I often make mounds of dirt 6″-8″ high and a foot or so across and about 24″ wide. I plant a couple cucumber plants 6″ from each end and then directly in the middle I dig down and place a plastic flower pot with its top flush with ground. When I hand water from my rain barrel I will water the flower pot in the middle. The water leaks ut from the holes in the bottom of the plastic flower pot and goes directly to the roots.

If you are a fan of Maineprepper on YouTube it is good to see him back and feeling better. Never watched his video’s? I highly recommend them.

I have it on a very reliable source that Obama has invested heavily in the firearms industry and is raking in the dough as every time he does something regarding guns sales increases dramatically.

Local Sam’s CLub has large #10 cans of whole potato’s for $1.91. Excellent deal. Expiration date is in a little over a year. Understand that 5 years from now I will happily eat those potato’s. When it comes to canned goods I feel pretty safe eating most anything years after their expiration date. Regardless – rotation is important.

  1. I like your cucumber watering tip- will try it when the snow and then the mud leaves in JUNE ??-smile. Ah 43 today and the giant chunks of ice came sliding off our roof-weighing two hundred lbs a piece and breaking the plywood roof that is a small porch over our back door. Very relieved that I was out from the house far enough when this occurred. We usually get a Jan. thaw and didnt this year.More snow due Sat and Sun. Signs of almost spring-Mud where there isnt ice and snow-4 wild turkeys at the bird feeder-……
A solar flare affected our country last night and we had interruptions with our TV and lights for awhile.

  2. I really have been concerned about maineprepper. It seemed he spent very little time in the VA hospital. He does seem better now, but I hope they did more than adjust his meds. He is an awesome individual. Would like to have him as a friend for sure.

  3. I remember hearing on around 11 megacycles “Sky King, Sky King, this is Elmendorf, this is Elmendorf. Do not answer, do not answer: migrate, migrate. Kilo, Bravo Niner, Zulu Zulu…” Now those were real scary days. God Bless General LeMay.
