From the Desk of John Rourke – January 29th, 2015

One out of every 5 children in the US receive nutrition via food stamps.  Wonderful.

I think now would be a great time to start buying silver.

AmmoToGo.com has a SPAM can of Tula .223 Rem ammo – 500 rounds – for $129.99.  I have shot a lot of Tula and never had an issue. Check it out HERE.

Last week I grabbed a can of Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup while at work – expired 3/2012. Tasted and looked just fine.

Recently tested a solvent trap adapter. Worked extremely well.

  1. I have a theory on that nutrition thing.

Food stamps generaly get used to buy the cheapest lowest quality food in order to save money.
Rather than that poor folks who need it should get a ration card and get a ration of fruits vegies and beans.
    They would eat healthier.

The statistics I read tell me the poor est tend to be the fattest simply because the cheapest food is the least healthy.
And we all know the least healthy kids are the most likely to fail in their grades, drop out and because criminals.

  2. Lucky Gunner has that Tula .223 ammo for $230.00 per case of 1000. I don’t shoot the stuff myself because it’s a bit dirty as far as fouling and requires more cleaning.

  3. Just imagine what would happen if the government failed (for whatever reason) to provide school lunch, EBT funds, welfare checks, etc…
Ferguson, Missouri would look like a kindergarten recess.

  4. As for Welfare support, it should be handled by the States and not the Feds. Anything the FEDS touch becomes a money pit with no oversight. If the States had to handout food rations, then it would behoove them to at least create minimal jobs for them to work off the school lunches, EBT, and welfare checks. Clean up the City Parks, sweep curbs, DO SOMETHING, besides text on your phones and shop Craigslist for stolen 22″ rims. Taxes keep going up to pay for these handouts. California offers the best options for those who don’t want to work.

  5. How about this? Get rid of the EBT cards. Bring back soup kitchens and lines. Or at least food stamps that you actually have to lick and stamp in a booklet rather than swipe like any credit card. Bring back some of the peer pressure/shame/guilt that helped force people in the past to work hard to get off government assistance as quick as possible.
