From the Desk of John Rourke – April 22nd, 2015

The Panhandle Rancher let me know about this. I can’t believe this crap. John Deere has stated that EVERYONE that has bought one of their tractors does NOT own the tractor. Nope – they paid the money but they do not own the machine. Rather – they purchased a lifetime LEASE to use the tractor. Holy ridiculous Batman!

Check this out:

In a particularly spectacular display of corporate delusion, John Deere—the world’s largest agricultural machinery maker —told the Copyright Office that farmers don’t own their tractors. Because computer code snakes through the DNA of modern tractors, farmers receive “an implied license for the life of the vehicle to operate the vehicle.”

It’s John Deere’s tractor, folks. You’re just driving it.

The Commander of the US Army in Europe has stated openly that Europe is facing a “real threat” from Russia. Russia’s aggression – which I have mentioned here several times – in addition to their threatening of Denmark has the Commander concerned.

The US military response to Russia? The movement of Patriot missiles 750 miles into Warshaw. This is another indication that a “Cold War 2” has started.

how to bug in

Had several comments regarding my mentioning about buying a piece of land and putting a small “cabin” on it. I will write up something soon  explain a bit more what I have in mind My budget to be honest is going to likely be around $15,000-$18,000 unless I get on owner financed land. This limits the possibilities but does not eliminate the project.

Growing up I thought Twinkies were the greatest thing in the world. Now? Not that great. One food that is not good for me at all that I love is Kelloggs Blueberry Pop Tarts. I could pound an entire box of 12 in one sitting. No frosting please.

  1. – I’m very interested in how your property idea goes also. LoL..I think you literally made all of us sit up in our chairs and take notice.

    – John Deere? Unreal! Thanks for the information. I will share it out.I hope the people hear about this and their company goes down the drain! Other companies thought they were untouchable to. Like Circuit City, Blockbuster, CNN, etc.

-I asked my wife this morning…what day is it with sigh of exhaustion. Then I answered my question immediately with “Wednesday?” Just one of those weeks! I was just so thankful at least the morning was new. You know?

    – Sooo Arlene ordered “the book” also. Hmmmm. I just don’t know where I was have the time to read it. 4am maybe?

  2. John, ever tried smearing peanut butter on top of a blueberry pop tart? Bet you could trap a rat with it.

  3. I read a similar article the other day, discussing how automakers were trying to use the same ‘law’ to discourage people from working on their own vehicles. But this statement from John Deere is just too much. SMDH.

  4. Well farmers around here that OWN John Deere will not take kindly to that inf and I imagine many tractors would be hidden should there be a problem. JD prices should be much lower if thats the case. We always had a Massey and they have served us well.(less expensive than JD) We do have a JD lawn tractor though and we use them til we use them up.

Rourke every time you mention food I get hungry- grin !!! I never liked twinkiies or pop tarts- but Yodels and home baked desserts, pop corn and ice cream !! Yummo.

Missles in Poland- ships in the Middle East- a storms a brewing !!! Happy Earth Day everyone !!! I remember the first Earth day- I was in college at the time.( 1968 0r 68-ancient history) We live Earth life !!! Arlene

  5. Ok Rourke, I think you’re just showing off with all the pictures of comfortably fashionable and uncomfortable office chairs and desks since I told you you needed a more comfortable chair. So, which one do you really work from?

  6. Europe is not the only ones being threatened by Russia, The USA will be their next target. With them being in control of a good percentage of our uranium output, what will happen if we refuse to honor the agreement that Hitlery made for cash for her alleged foundation. No way she should have been able to make such an agreement!! I know it wasn’t just her but she was indeed the Sec. of State when the deal went down.
