Couple needs some help

Hello all -

I received the following email from my contact at Shelf Reliance- one of my first and original sponsors. In this time of year with Christmas just around the corner – moneyis tight for many of us. I try to drop a little change for the Salvation Army and will donate canned food for various churches. With the email that Mike sent me below…..I just can’t imagine starting off a marriage in such a terrible state.

So – I figured I would pass it on to my readers. If you can afford to go to Shelf Reliance and buy the 6-Grain Pancake Mix-that would be great.

You can also visit the website in the email below to find out more and possibly donate. A little here and there could go a long way.

In happier times........

To my fellow bloggers:I challenge all the other survival & preparedness bloggers from around the world to also post about this worthy cause.

Here is the email:

I have a favor to ask of you.  I will completely understand if you cannot do this as it may not be plausible for you to do so, but I figured I would ask either way.  I will in no way hold it against you if you can’t do this.  I even thank you in advance for reading this.

We are conducting a small charity function for a couple that is in serious need.  Their names are Steve and Nikki Gutierrez (Nikki is actually my cousin).  They were married this summer and about two months later Steve was in a serious motorcycle accident.  His injuries were very severe.  The reason he survived is because there was a Life Flight helicopter already overhead, on its way back to the hospital with no patient in it because the call it was responding to had been canceled.  Were it not for this miracle, Steve probably wouldn’t have made it.

I will spare you the gruesome details, so to be short Steve will never use his right arm again and these two newly weds are beginning their married life in serious debt. Even though it was the other driver’s fault insurance isn’t going to cover all the expenses for the long list of surgeries and rehabilitation that Steve has needed and will continue to need.  Here is the link to a website that my uncle made to help them out.  Some of the pictures are pretty graphic though, so be warned.

Shelf Reliance is going to be donating all the proceeds from our 6 Grain Pancake Mix to help them out.  A number of other companies have stepped forward to help them as well.  This will run through December 15th.  Sorry for the late notice.

If you could mention somewhere on your site in the next few days that we are doing this I would be very grateful.  Again, you don’t have to and I don’t expect you to, but if you can, that would be great.

Thank you so much!
