I have enjoyed Expendables 1 and 2. Action packed movies full of action stars from over the years. Expendables 3? Not the greatest.

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Been slow responding to comments this week. Will catch up this weekend. Appreciate those leaving comments sharing thoughts and getting involved. You rock!!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

I did not put together a “Steals and Deals” post this week however I do want to mention something.

“There comes a time in the history of nations when fear and complacency allow power to accumulate and liberty and privacy to suffer……That time is now, and I will not let the Patriot Act, the most unpatriotic of acts, go unchallenged.”

Sorry for no “From the Desk of…” post yesterday. Just ran out of time especially with the troubles from Sunday with the website.

Appreciate all the positive comments on my “What I like about President Obama” post. I put a lot of effort into it and glad so many enjoyed it.

The site was down most of the weekend. Cause was the periodic “ping attack”. Unfortunately it took Hostgator quite a while to get the attacker blocked. Usually customer service and tech support is fantastic. I wouldn’t change hosting companies for anything as they have done great over the years.

Due to the severe downtime I am WAY behind writing and scheduling things for the week. Please keep that in mind.

Several people have mentioned that they can see a small green box in the lower right-hand corner of their screen when coming here. I am experimenting with some chat functions to allow me to chat with you periodically. If it says “online” feel free to say HI.

The Sun Oven Webinar just finished and I have to say it was extremely educational. I learned a lot about sun cookers and specifically the Sun Oven cooker. Quite a fantastic survival and preparedness tool but also super fantastic for daily use as well.

The webinar was open to members of the Patriots. I was very pleased that Paul – the owner of SunOven.com – offered all those participating in the webinar a HUGE discount

There are times when I sit in my living room and my mind wanders to the things I am ignorant of. The experiences other humans have had in war, terror, and things unimaginable – I can only ponder. The sheer evil that I and most others have been sheltered from…well…..we need to be enlightened for our own good. This evil will not remain overseas and there are many indications our borders have been well infiltrated.

I have had well over 4000 rounds through my Stag AR – not a single failure to feed, failure to eject, or jam of any kind. The only malfunction I have ever experienced was two failures of a round to detonate. Both were while shooting Monarch steel cased .223 rounds.

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Was asked by reader George about firearm magazine storage – both loaded and empty. He was curious if I knew of any good storage systems. I have to admit that beyond having loaded magazines in a couple of vests/pouches – my empties reside in a cardboard box inside a plastic tote along with other defensive supplies.

I have had

I am excited. Looks like I am going to hold a small preparedness “seminar” at a local gun store. Looking forward to it. Well – gun store is an understatement. This place is an outdoorsman’s paradise. It is basically a family owned business that has been around for decades and has grown from a small bait and gun shop to an outdoor emporium.

I will do a featured article soon on the business. No big

I just watched the movie America: Imagine the World Without Her again. This was the 5th time and was still excellent. It does an great job suggesting how the world would be a much different place without America. The movie also displays several myths that are known and taught in public schools as fact. Recommended.

Politics and Preparedness: Over the years I have talked plenty about politics. I believe that politics are deeply intertwined with preparedness. The vast majority of us are preparing for an inevitable economic collapse. The reality is it not so much a failure of the economy but a failure of the government. This country and its people could be flourishing with low unemployment, a fantastic education system, low taxes and huge opportunities. Government has suffocated and

As of this writing the situation in Baltimore is getting worse. Rumors are spreading that rival gangs have called a truce and will work together to take out police officers. 15 officers have been injured – some seriously. Vehicles are being set on fire and there is continuous looting going on.

It remains frustrating to see the general “sheeple” citizen with their head in the sand on matters that affect the welfare of this country.

Watching one of those cop shows yesterday there was a story of a guy riding down the street on a bike and he gets pulled over(don’t remember why). He was searched and they found $200 in 5’s and 1’s, and a Hi-Point 9mm pistol. He had no ID therefore no permit. I continue to be impressed with the Kelly Kettle Trekker. Not the smallest emergency cook stove but it works great. Love the fact that you can cook and boil water at the same time. My youngest son cooked a hot dog on it and he said it was really fun. Somehow that hot dog tasted better cooking it outside in the Kelly Kettle.
