Hello folks – hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We ate around 1:30pm and it was fantastic. I am writing this at 9:00pm Thursday night and getting ready to go cook an apple pie. – Mrs. Smith.

I started Thursday by going out and working on my HAM repeater build. Trying to get it up as high as possible I have been using a small compound bow and fishing line. This worked for lower elevation(40

I guess my hopes for peaceful protests in Ferguson was a dream. Pretty pathetic the violence, property destruction, and flag burning. Those US flags the “protesters” are burning – – hundreds of thousands of people died for that flag. Show some respect. Pathetic. Half the protesters are there just to cause trouble and the other half are taking selfies on their Obama phones so they can post on Facebook that they are there. Going

As I type this I am watching the announcement of the Grand Jury verdict finding that there was not sufficient evidence to charge Officer Wilson with a crime in shooting Michael Brown.

Police in riot gear pouring out of the building in preparation of rioting/violence/whatever. I suspect it will be a long night in Ferguson and I hope peaceful. The Grand Jury heard the facts and next to Officer Wilson are the best positioned to

Charlotte, NC ex-Mayor Patrick Cannon just went to prison after admitting to taking bribes. Pathetic excuse for a man in my opinion. Everyone makes mistakes but that doesn’t mean I have to like it nor have any use for them. What makes matters worse I heard a reporter interviewing one of his supporters and she said he never took bribes and if he did – it was to help the City of Charlotte. Folks –

I went to a meeting at Christopher’s Middle School. The Assistant Principle was talking about a trip to Sea World that was being offered and a parent asked about fund raisers to help pay for the trip. The Principle stated that there usually are fund raisers such as selling Krispy Kreme donuts but with the Federal Government now keeping unhealthy foods out of the school the successful program was off the table. The government can’t

I’ve owned several air guns over the years including pump and CO2. So much fun and they certainly have a place a a preparedness tool. I remember growing up carrying around a Daisy 880 pump BB/pellet gun. I felt like I could take on the Soviet army with that thing. Back then I walked the entire neighborhood with it and never heard a word from anyone. Do that today and the police will probably be

I have mixed feelings with the Seal coming forward and talking about the killing of Bin Laden. I was not able to watch the Fox News special – but will likely catch it on Youtube or download a bootleg copy off the Internet. On one hand the Seal and other veterans make incredible sacrifices for peanuts. If they can benefit themselves and their family by telling the truth – so be it. On the other

Just got finished watching the movie “Dragon’s Day”. Low budget and so-so acting but pretty interesting. The premise is the United States is attacked by China as most all electronics stop working due to an internal “virus” that is included as part of the manufacturing process. China is able to activate the virus through the use of a top-secret radio frequency. The story covers a family who had gone to a mountain cabin and finds

A Liberal friend of mine recently showed me a graphic that someone made up that promoted an opinion related to the voters who gave Republicans control of both the House and Senate. The graphic suggests that the Obama Administration has been a tremendous positive for this country and provides “facts” as supportive evidence. So frustrating to come across smart people that believe the propaganda and fail to educate themselves.

Here is the graphic itself:

I do most of the grocery shopping in my home. This past weekend I took my wife with me and she was constantly complaining about the prices. Since it had been quite a while that she had been in a grocery store the increase in prices were shocking to her. In particular bacon, beef, milk, and some fruit especially noticeable. Last night I watched The Grey on Netflix for about the 10th time. Great movie. Now – I am not talking about it being great because of its story of survival and the characters doing all the right things. No, in fact the story has the characters do some pretty stupid things when faced with a terrible survival situation. Pure entertainment. Highly recommended.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! If you are looking for a scary movie to watch tonight – or over the weekend – check out Incidious: Chapter 2. It is on Netflix and can be rented at a local Redbox. No need to see the first one – it stands alone just fine. I saw it in the theater – very scary and well done. The Conjuring is another good one if you haven’t seen it.
