BREAKING NEWS: Confirmed Ebola infection in New York City.

The 33 year old man is a doctor who treated Ebola patients in West Africa. He reportedly began to experience a fever and gastrointestinal problems and sought medical attention. Concerning is that once again people are allowed in this country after possible

Prepping for Less

survival-food-storage-300x225

by Terry Blount

According to the US government most people are dealing with a financial squeeze. Two out of every three citizens are now living from paycheck to paycheck… that means that two out of every three people who read this have limited discretionary income to purchase items that would prepare them for hard times. However, anything you can do now will not be wasted if you can buy the things you will

Infographic: Bug Out Bag Checklist

Bugging Out Alone

I enjoy looking at some of these “infographics”. Infographics can provoke thought and educate – but there are some pretty ridiculous ones out there as well. Infographics can be seen on all kinds of things like container gardening, survival skills, food storage, firearms, first aid, camping, shooting, hiking, backpacking, household frugal ideas, etc. The one below on creating a bug out bag I thought was pretty good so I figured I would share.

Any thoughts

Last year I went to the Uwharrie National Park on an off-road trip with some friends. I drive a stock Jeep Wrangler 2-door and was told we were going to stick to the easy trails. Well – once we started out it wasn’t bad but soon the one-way trail turned a lot rougher than I wanted to take my daily driver. You know what? NO PROBLEM! Took it slow and was just amazed at what

Survival Biscuits?

040-1024x576

I wrote this awhile back over at SeasonedCitizenPrepper.com. Figured many of you have not seen it as it is buried deep within the archives. To see it in its original form click HERE.

Food is my major concern when looking at my preps. I feel like I could just never have enough. At this point I have a large variety of types of food including common grocery store items as well as dehydrated and freeze

Took the family to my brothers place in Georgia for the weekend. If you are not a long time reader you may not be aware that my brothers place is my bug out location. My overall plan is to stay at home – in place. If for some reason I need to move the family I have two options – one approx 30 miles away

Quarantined……

download (1)

By “The Coach”, Contributing Editor

I, like many other people, have never been quarantined and knew very little about the topic except for what I have been hearing recently on the television networks. I have learned long ago NOT to trust the television networks for accurate information. The television networks often slant the information they put out to suite their purposes of their political affiliation purposes. So I started to do some

Saw several types of .22LR at Wal-Mart on Saturday – CCI Mini-Mag 40-grain Standard Velocity boxes of 100 for $7.97 which is a good price but I didn’t want standard velocity. They also had 50 round boxes of Remington Yellow Jackets for $4.99 – too rich for my blood and I have not had a lot of luck in semi-auto’s with Yellow Jackets.

11 month test – canned crackers

canning crackers, canning food, canning, food storage, survival, preparedness

My wife made some no-bean chili the other night. Stuff is fantastic but I must have saltine crackers to go with it. She said we were out……EXCEPT those ones in the jars sitting in the cabinet.

She was referring to several jars of crackers that I had canned back in November of 2013. Would they still be crisp and taste good after 9 month? My wife said I was insane for eating crackers that old.

Thoughts on Ebola

Guest-Post

Rourke: The following was sent in by “KAT” who works in the medical field.

There is very little real information because this virus has only recently received the level of attention it should have given its seriousness. Other hemorrhagic fevers include Marburg virus and Rift valley fever, all of which have been localized to Sub-Saharan Africa. This primitive is deadly, mammals have no natural resistance, deregulates the entire blood clotting system through the body.

Essentials for a Vehicle Emergency Kit

shutterstock_121022803

By Cherie

Being prepared for an emergency is serious business. You probably realize, for instance, the wisdom of carrying an emergency kit in your vehicle. But do you have one in there right now?

During the winter of 2006, a couple and their children were returning home from vacation. They missed their turnoff, drove perhaps an hour beyond it, and decided to try an alternate route across the mountains.

It wasn’t a good idea. They

My desire to have a place out in the country – a weekend getaway – is pretty much driving me crazy. I have been planning on sitting down with my wife to discuss finances and goals – but so far this week it hasn’t happened. I want to have some time with just the two of us without the kids fighting and causing distractions.

Ammo prices….

survival ammunition

The ammunition market continues to get better since the days following the Sandy Hook shooting. At one point you couldn’t buy a box of 9mm – regardless of the price. Then a few boxes would start to show up at ridiculous prices. I continue to say it – stock up now because you never know when the market will change and the ammo market gets tight again.

Availability on most everything except .22LR seems just

I have owned two Harbor Freight small 63cc generators – they both were terrible. The first one lasted approx 2.5 hours and then locked up. Harbor Freight sent me a second one for review and I was never able to even get it started. I know – Chinese made and you should expect much for $90 but I was hoping it would at least run. Guess you get what you pay for.

Michael Savage: 1 month left to save America
