Am I the only one?
Have you seen the movie 2012?
If you haven’t – check it out. It’s pretty entertaining. If you have seen it – are you seeing any similarities with many recent events in the world and the plot of the movie?
I’m not saying that 2012 was some kind of real-life prophetic statement – it is just a movie. But to me – wow! Tsunami’s, earthquakes, massive storms, tornado’s, and flooding……….oh my. I am not a believer in global warming or the 2012 end-of-world theory, but I think there is little denying that the weather has just been crazy lately. Even this past winter was just crazy with massive snow falls and frigid temps across the country.
History shows that this planet goes through periods of severe weather and disastrous events. Often these disastrous times can change the evolution of the planet and have dramatic effects on life over widespread regions. In historic terms – a period of months or even years are really nothing.
Maybe this moment in time is just a blip on the radar and soon it will all be palm trees and ocean breeze. Regardless – these times are some that if people do not see the need to do at least some minimal preparing – they must be blind.
By the way – some incredible special effects in 2012.

I too have been thinking this and I am far from a believer in the whole 2012 hype. However, one cannot look past the crazy weather, increase in earthquakes, volcanic activity, and let’s not forget the mass die off of animals in the beginning of the year. Plus, in my line of business, EMS, I have noticed an increase in psych/suicidal runs? Again, I am not one for coincidence. I’m just looking at everything, all happenings and trying my best not to. And now with the problems in Israel? Pheww! I think I need a drink!

2012 is an excellent movie I have it and it is great. I have noticed the weather too. It has been crazy out here in the west too. We have had none stop rain all month. We have way more water in the mountains than we can handle. I hope it is just a blip on the radar. Great movie material though.

I too, saw this movie and while I viewed it as entertainment, the multitude of recent extremes when it comes to natural disasters made it seem real. It you go to Netflix and enter “2012″ in the search box, you will find a plethora of movies with that year in the title. Kind of makes me wonder what the next big thing in disaster movies will be two years from now.
Technology and visual affects aside, the low-budget movie classic from 1996, The Trigger Affect, is a good example of a film depicting people dealing with the extraordinary events unfolding around them. That, and The Road, are also reminders that even a little bit of prepping is better than nothing.

PS – I too am a disbeliever when it comes to global warming although that is a very unpopular stance in my community.

Good points – I had forgotten about the animal die off earlier this year.
I am not one for coincidence either.
