Alternative power planned
I have a big interest in alternative power – specifically solar. I have a limited emergency power system now -not good for much more than powering just a few things for a limited time. I am planning to expand my alternative power capabilities early this Fall.
Solar power will be an integral part of this system. The video below describes a very similar system to what I will be installing – mine a little bit on a larger scale with larger capacity.
Take care all -
Rourke

Very nice system, I am going to go and pick up two of those set up’s from harbor freight probably this next week. I also noticed the last time I was in there that they had some other cool solar stuff and extra 12v lights for the system too!! Now I just need to find a spot that has some good deep cycle batteries for a reasonable price. Excellent post Rourke!!

I understand your specific need for the fridge as my sister-in-law is in the same boat as your son. Looking forward to your review of the system and lessons learned.
BTW, noticed Preppy of http://smallhold-pioneerpreppy.blogspot.com/2011/02/solar-research.html is also looking into solar, and has been into bees for about a year or so.
